Sounds like several problems. 1. too fast - slow way way down 2. Lubrication - use quality cutting or threading oil 3. Chatter - hold the drill as firmly as possible. Better yet, get the table top under your drill press and use that.

Unless you have some means of indicating the hole and securely clamping the workpiece, you would be better off at a machine shop. How much could two holes cost?
