Tried and there isn't enough flex to peel it off the long edge.

I have this fluorescent light in my kitchen. Trying to clean inside but I can't get cover off. Tried removing end caps but they won't budge; look glued. Tried pulling the long edge over top of metal frame but it won't move enough. I am afraid I am going to break it. What am I doing wrong?
