Looking for recommendations on how to spruce up this bench and cabinets...

Cell phone quality pic, but I am looking for suggestions on what I should do with my work bench/cabinets. I would like them to flow with the color of the walls more. You can see one half of the wall is gray, then a red line and then a lighter gray. The bench and cabinets are about 12 foot long...

Gear wheel in door opener stripped out...What would cause this?

I replaced the gear wheel with one out of a spare a buddy had. Then we tightened the torsion springs. I think we did 9 turns on each side. Them things had no tension to begin with! No wonder the gear stripped out! Now, How does one balance the door?

Gear wheel in door opener stripped out...What would cause this?

I'm all about replacing the gear, but tackling the torsion spring kinda scares me. All I ever hear is how dangerous it is to fool with those things......

Gear wheel in door opener stripped out...What would cause this?

I don't believe its binding. The door can be opened and I don't feel any binding. It does however feel like I am having to lift quite a bit of the door weight to open it. Even when the door is 3/4/ of the way up, if I let go, the door wants to come back down on its own. I thought a normal...

Gear wheel in door opener stripped out...What would cause this?

I have a craftsman 1/2 horsepower garage door opener. It has always been a little funky if you ask me but has always worked since I bought the house. Today it would only rise about 2 feet then stop. With a little help by hand it would over come that 2 foot spot and continue on its way. So I...

    Porter Cable 7424 buffer

Ive owned a the 7424 for years, but I switched to the cyclo polisher. Google it and check it out. Its more powerful for paint correction yet still random orbit so safe for your paint. I mainly use by PC for applying waxes only. Lake country makes good pads and so does meguiars.

Isn't that what the "General Garage Discussion" forum is for?

    Free Parking Debate

I agree, but I don't think the forum rules specifically say no politic discussion allowed. I didn't read them because most forum rules are the same. No disrespecting other members, cursing, illicit photos, etc, etc. When these are broken moderators usually handle it as necessary. Either way, I...

    Free Parking Debate

Not allowing one to express his/her freedom of speech or religion is a violation of rights. The free parking forum should be allowed and if a thread simply gets out of hand where FORUM RULES are broken, simply shut it down and bann the member if it warrants it. Not a big deal.

    My scary carport

Man, I have some memories from that town. Granted I was only about 14 years old when I left, but I remember a lot from that town. You know of Beaty Middle School? (I'm pretty sure that was the name) For some reason at the moment my old street name escapes me. I lived on two different...

    Garage door: Force adjustment??

All adjustments were made with the door disconnected from the trolley. When the door is closed, the chain is only on one side of the rail. On the other side of the rail is a cable. There is a sag in the chain when the door is closed and the manual says its normal. I haven't tried to listen...

    Garage door: Force adjustment??

Its a Craftsman opener. I don't think its to tight. When the door is closed, there is sag in the chain. It basically lays on the T-rail. The instructions say there should be about a 1/2 inch from the base of the T-rail to the chain. I adjusted it to these specs and the noise got worse in my...

    Garage door: Force adjustment??

My garage door makes a little bit too much vibration noise where I think its not good for the door. I'm not sure if its sprocket noise or what. I've tried adjusting the the chain to manufacture specs and it actually made it worse. Does the force adjustment have anything to do with with...
