Garant is the house brand of the Hoffmann Group, and, as mdrawde alluded to, their items are all rebranded goods from other (high-end) manufactures...Stahlwille, PB Swiss, and Koken to name a few. Holex is another house brand of theirs, and is usually a step below the Garant stuff.

I'm very interested in the Hazet 600's (big fan of their sockets/ratchets), but unfortunately they are too expensive for what will essentially be a backup set of wrenches. They are also thicker than both the Stahlwille 13's and the Gedore 7's, and I'd really like something on the slimmer side...

I have no idea...I don't know if they made it with something in particular in mind, or if they just didn't want to leave that much unused space? I planning on getting some hex sockets, so I'll probably make a little foam insert for them, and fill the pocket with it.

I had to complete the set... 3/8" Hazet socket set. Unfortunately, it was poorly packed so a lot of the sockets bounced loose, and left some pretty ugly detents in the foam. And the upside down laser markings are setting of my OCD. Other than that, I continue to be impressed by Hazet.
