    What's the deal?

    Best shop vac ?

Why do you want HEPA? Do you want a true sealed HEPA system for EPA RRP projects involving lead paint? If so, you’ll need to look at something certified for that, like one of these. A lot of true HEPA vacs will bust your budget...

    Williams Ratchet B-54 Flex-head thread

For paint and rust removal I like a variable speed angle grinder.

    A few sema discounts

I don’t hear much about Genius these days. I’ve had a few of their tools and they were good. I’ll check out their site. Thanks for the codes.

Stanley/DeWalt new manufacturing facility in Texas...

Stuart from Toolguyd visited a DeWalt facility and they do more than just assemble imported parts. http://toolguyd.com/dewalt-brushless-drill-building-and-factory-tour/

school me on a torque wrench.

Most, not all, of the HF torque wrenches are made in Taiwan. The Tekton is made in Taiwan, not China.

    Companion USA -V- pear head

That is interesting. Thanks for posting the pics. There are other brands like New Britain they have done similar things. You’ll find tools like Mustang-branded ratchets that use the same mechanism as a vintage Husky or New Britain ratchet, but have a much cruder, poorly finished handle.

MORE new cordless tools coming from HF.

They're branding their new cordless impacts under the Earthquake line instead of the Hercules line. https://www.harborfreight.com/20v-max-lithium-12-in-cordless-xtreme-torque-impact-wrench-kit-63537.html...

More new name branding at HF

Someone posted a couple pics over on the r/tools section of Reddit and the package said the pair of Doyle pliers was made in Taiwan. That makes me think they could be pretty good. I still think they’re too close on price to some real brands, but we will see.

More new name branding at HF

Thanks for the pics. I also assume these will be exempted from the 20% off coupons. We will see. There are good, affordable USA-made options for pliers, like Wilde, Channellock and Klein, so I don't foresee getting many of these unless they turn out to be a good quality and a super bargain...

    SBD's Update On Craftsman, DeWalt/Flexvolt

I'm not necessarily worried about warrantying old tools. My concern is I'd buy some new Craftsman tools, as I'll probably do when SBD releases them, but I won't be able to rely on any warranty service at Ace without keeping receipts or other hassles that aren't part of the Craftsman warranty...

    SBD's Update On Craftsman, DeWalt/Flexvolt

Here’s my question about this: if they’re focusing on Ace, will they focus on making Ace honor the Craftsman warranty? I’ve read plenty of complaints on here about that.

    Lowes Blows!

I know people here love to complain about Sears, but they sure seem better about honoring their tool lifetime warranties than HD or Lowes. At least up until now. The future offers some uncertainty.

    Quality of sockets vary much?

You're correct if we are talking about several years ago. Danaher used to supply many of the NAPA tools and made Craftsman sockets/wrenches/ratchets. So, back then there were a lot of similarities But now we are way beyond that. Danaher spun off their tool production in Apex Tools and the newer...

    Need a wet-dry vac recommendation

The big Ridgids like the WD1450, which I would highly recommend, are made in Mexico. I can't speak for the smaller models, as I haven't looked at them.
