My new Bondhus hex / Allen wrenches are pathetic

I got a response. I'm trying to clarify if it's on all of the lines of tools or just the ProGuard.

My new Bondhus hex / Allen wrenches are pathetic

I have a pair of beautiful Norco 71202A's I ended up buying after way too much research. I've been meaning to write a review for them. They're not common outside of tire shops. I got the feeling I'm the only consumer sale they've had in Texas (non-business) when I ordered them. Lifetime...

My new Bondhus hex / Allen wrenches are pathetic

That makes sense. Judging by the good reviews this could be a recent development. I'm returning them regardless, but will see what Bondhus says. Price isn't a factor; I just wanted a good non-ball end set.

My new Bondhus hex / Allen wrenches are pathetic

Sounds good. I'm definitely not going to write them off just yet. I sent them an email and will keep this post updated. Sorry if I jumped the gun a bit. I'm glad to hear that this is not the norm

My new Bondhus hex / Allen wrenches are pathetic

Thanks for the replies. I got them from Amazon. They are all stamped USA, the size, and a hex icon. The steel feels quality, and they appear to be genuine. The ends on ~70% of them look like a crayon that was snapped in half. I really hope this is just a bad batch. I've had a lot of issue with...

My new Bondhus hex / Allen wrenches are pathetic

I needed a new set of hex wrenches and read great things about Bondhus. Their site even goes to great lengths about how their ends are cut and chamfered in a superior way. I just received them in the mail, and they're pretty sad. The ends not only are not chamfered, they're uneven, and have...

Need help picking out a set of Norseman bits, quick.

Sorry to bring back a year old thread. I love these bits, but I had a quick question. I have the Magnum Super Premium with a gold coating (not TiN). The coating on one of my bits wore off after drilling ~20 holes in Jeep fender. I expect the coating to wear, but was curious if this is normal, or...

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

Sorry, I just saw your post. The crush sleeves support a bracket for a belly pan on a jeep. The belly pan acts as a mounting point for control arms. Here are some photos of what the final install looks like.

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

I forgot to check back in. I ended up being able to use a hack saw and file to get perfect results. Thanks again for the help.

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

Ok cool, thanks. I'm actually shopping & comparing them as we speak. If there was a vice / clamp that could hold what I plan on grinding (the tubes in this instance) that would be great. I think I'll have to figure out my own method, but a miter that clamped on both sides for the table portion...

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

I like the belt / disk table sander idea. It will come in handy for other projects. Now comes the issue of securing the tubes with a jig / guide. I'm seeing some ideas on the knife forums, but am open to any thoughts you all may have. I'm going to spend some time today researching. This looks...

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

To clarify, I don't have a lathe or friends with a lathe. I really need to find one. I'm constantly running into issues like this with my car and gun projects.

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

I wish. I'm not a pro, just a hobbyist. I want a mill & lathe so bad but my 2 car garage is at capacity with 3 giant tool chests, a work bench, shop press, etc.

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

Lots of great ideas. Thanks guys! The tube wall is ~0.1" thick. The tube cutting jig bigredmf linked is similar to what I've found being used for bike handle bars. I think I'm going to buy a better tube cutter with a wider bearing surface, and a belt sander. I have a feeling I'll need to do...

Need an accurate way to trim 1/16" to 3/16" off steel tube

I have 6 steel tubes that are 3.75" in length & 3/4" in diameter that need to be accurately trimmed down to anywhere from 1/16" to 3/16". They're anti-crush sleeves being inserted into a car frame at various areas. I'm having a difficult time getting accurate cuts with a tube cutter since...

Blackhawk / Proto Locking Ratcheting Wrenches. Input needed.

Thanks for the input Dave. You make a good point about the switch. I was more concerned with the added thickness but keeping it locked is equally important.

Blackhawk / Proto Locking Ratcheting Wrenches. Input needed.

I'd like a set of locking ratcheting wrenches, and am trying to decide between the Blackhawk and Gearwrench XL sets. The Blackhawk sets look much nicer but I'm unable to see them in person. There is a lot of positive feedback on the Gearwrench sets but very little on the Blackhawk (probably due...

Need help picking out a set of Norseman bits, quick.

Good to know they're the same. I picked up the top of the line drill doctor today for free... My brother used to be a lock smith and apparently has been keeping it in my dad's attic. LOL!

Need help picking out a set of Norseman bits, quick.

Those look great. I just wish they had more than 4 sizes, and did't include pilot hole bits. I'll probably pick up a set if I can't find longer step bits. Thanks for the link. Norseman's giant PDF catalog is a ***** to navigate.

Need help picking out a set of Norseman bits, quick.

You're right. I'm going to find some better step bits for my collection. I need some that have deeper steps. That's the only reason why I tried to use a drill bit... and I wanted an excuse to order a Norseman set. :)
