    Above 1200 Sq/FT 32X40 Garage Build WI

This is so true! I got my first tractor this year and I keep telling myself the same thing. It's so useful in more ways than I imagined.

    LTT Ratcheting Screwdriver

Perhaps you missed the fact that this screwdriver was just released to the market last week and they have shipped exactly 0 units. The first wave of shipments is promised to ship sometime before October 1st. Nobody in GJ or anywhere else on the planet has received one. Not much of a conspiracy.

Above 1200 Sq/FT Wheels Down Workshop - Tejas Hill Country

Leveled up today! Moved the 4 post lift from the old house and got the 2 post installed. It's exciting to be unblocked on a lot of deferred car maintenance. Looking forward to getting the Miata track-worthy again and get the GT3 all dialed in after a few years of storage and neglect during COVID.

    LTT Ratcheting Screwdriver

You've made many complaints in this thread about how you believe the LTT screwdriver is overpriced. That's fine, you're welcome to that opinion. However, The LTT screwdriver is USD $69.99 and the SnapOn screwdriver which Linus has been using and wanted to improve is USD $76.50. We can at...

Generator Back feed, A/C service disconnect, and ethernet from barn to house

You want to run fiber not copper anyway and with fiber there's no concern about running alongside power in the same conduit. I just did two 1200' runs with direct burial fiber cable for my new place. I only used conduit in the two places where I had to cross my driveway. Fiber is a breeze to...

LTT posted a 30 minute video today discussing all the work they put into the design.

    LTT Ratcheting Screwdriver

I’ve got one on order. I’m a casual viewer of LTT online content and the product interests me. I don’t really understand the source of the apparent hostility towards LTT thats come up in this thread, but it doesn’t seem to have much to do with the screwdriver.

Some tech and decorative updates. I continue to experiment with these Akro-Mils bins and custom front labels. I added a few more screws and washers and printed up some corresponding labels this afternoon. I've run into a discrepancy with how to handle fractional screw lengths. There are...

You definitely need the space. Also, that was an incredible deal on the cabinets, what a lucky day!

Network optical fiber to the garage recommendations?

I've got two fiber runs on my new property, both using Cleerline SSF direct burial, 6 strand fiber. I bought the termination kit and watched a few YouTube videos and I have been able to successfully terminate the strands without too much difficulty. It's sort of a hassle to buy the tools and...

I still haven't really figured out the weather patterns for our property here. There's a lot of forecast rain that we never seem to get here. I wanted to get better local weather measurements so I can start paying closer attention to the conditions and maybe develop a better sense of what to...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Wheels Down Workshop - Tejas Hill Country

Small update, I've been focused on the fiber optics and internet mostly, but I have been able to put some time into the garage this week. About 80% of the tool cabinets arrived and I've started the process of building and installing them against the far wall in the hangar. We were thwarted by...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Wheels Down Workshop - Tejas Hill Country

Today I mounted a dry erase board, hung our kayaks on the wall above the equipment room, and mounted some Akro-Mils panels for hanging parts bins on the walls. I also got a call from the freight company informing me that the toolboxes and cabinets will arrive on Monday, so that's exciting...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Wheels Down Workshop - Tejas Hill Country

One of the big upsides of our new place is that we're a lot closer to H2R! Fun week last week, although more focused on the homelab and internet than the garage. We rented the rock saw again in order to dig the trenches to run fiber optic cable from the main house to the stable and then on to...

Just 10g, I'm runing UniFi switches and that's what they support.

Anyone else doing a datacenter in the garage?

Next week I'm trenching fiber from my house to the workshop so that I can have both buildings on the same network. The previous owner of my property just paid for two separate internet connections and I don't want to be stuck having to route out to the world and back in just to ping my garage...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Wheels Down Workshop - Tejas Hill Country

Thanks! My wife and I are both HPDE enthusiasts and do a lot of recreational track days and instructing. The only wheel-to-wheel we do is in much cheaper cars than the Porsche (Lemons and Chump Car). Not everything is bigger in Texas!

Above 1200 Sq/FT Wheels Down Workshop - Tejas Hill Country

Long-time forum lurker, but I've never really had enough space to post anything. I recently bought a new place out in the Tejas hill country which will become a workshop for my race car and various maker/home automation hobbies and I thought it warranted a thread to document the build out. My...
