Trusty-Cook! Any time I see a Trusty-Cook rebranded hammer, I'm like, "wow that's a nice dead blow, made by Trusty-Cook!" And if they don't recognize the name, I send 'em to the site.

If Stanley succeeds with Made / Assembled in USA Craftsman, one would think it would encourage Home Depot/Husky, Lowes/Kobalt, NAPA/Carlyle, etc to follow suit. Wouldn't mind little red, white, and blue logos popping up in increasingly more places.
Yeah, agree with you both on Expert. No real "brand equity" to speak of. That's the thing. To those of us into tools, these names, Snap-On, Mac, Matco take on a deeper meaning. To the average Joe, which dwarfs us, Craftsman is the Giant.
Mac and Craftsman have rebranded many of the same products in the past. Their strategy of Mac on the truck, Craftsman in the store, and Proto to Industrial with Blackhawk as a niche following and second tier Proto I think makes sense. It's like just in time manufacturing. Same assembly line...
Stanley could still end up owning Craftsman perhaps even at a lower cost. Stanley deal would be highly unlikely to be deemed the cause of Sears' demise (more like a lifeline), but no doubt its strategy would be impacted and likely delayed.
Here's the Mac panel remover with a Mac-Grip & Vim blade. I haven't tried it out on a door center pin yet. Grip feels good. The end is tapered like a prybar. Angle not as good as Snap-On, in my opinion, but the remover tip looks like it'll work very well.
Yeah, 3/8 in a 1/4 body not a necessity for me, I don't run into too many clearance issues wuth what I already have to use, but sometimes I like to palm-cradle the 1/4 ratchet head and could see myself doing that and not having to switch drive sizes with the 3/8. Plus my other 3/8's are all...
Can relate. Got a roll of SK made Craftsman Professional combos that were too pretty to use (did sell them recently and am not sure why), followed by a Milwaukee Holeshooter, followed by a tool truck-load.
I hear that. Have to remind myself to show my old Holeshooter some love once in a while after upgrading my cordless drill driver to the M18 Fuel. I'm spoiled with torque.
Good examples. Some guys don't touch their 1/2's as much even b/c electric guns like this guy are getting more powerful:

As was probably already covered early in this thread, 1/4 and 3/8 air ratchets can be useful for repetitive tasks like parts changing and if you are for any reason worried about impacting or clearance. In 1/2, you want the power and assist of an impact and clearance is rarely an issue. Plus...
