What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished rebuilding the carb rack for my V65 Magna. Getting the linkage/fuel lines back together in order is the fun part. New fuel lines from the tank are in order.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Put studded snow tires on my car for work tomorrow (freezing rain snow mix forecast). Cleaned the shop up a bit, helped a buddy find an exhaust leak. Oh, and plugged a tire.

    Astro Pneumatic Tool Company

As a hobbyist with a decent collection I would not be interested in the line of extra long ratcheting wrenches. Already have those and would not buy long ones just because. I would add though I hate skipped sizes. All too often the time will arrive you need that exact size. I try not to buy...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT From losing everything to being cash-poor and shop-rich in "only" five years!

Re: From losing everything to being cash-poor and shop-rich in "only" five years! Thanks for posting. We lost our house to fire 7 years ago. Lived in the sticks and took 17 minutes form the time I called to the first truck to show up. By then half the house was gone. What wasn't burned was...

    Steel security door input wanted

Thanks for the inputs gents. Like you Boomer, I'm looking into safe doors, but I'd have to fortify the framing. Probably hire a mason to set some reinforcement? As mentioned, most anything out of a box store I won't have much confidence in. It won't be cheap, but safes aren't cheap either...

    Steel security door input wanted

I have a room approximately 5x10. Exterior wall, kind of a closet accessed only through my attached garage. Its where I keep my gun safe. Long story short, I've outgrown it. Instead of investing another couple thousand in a decent safe, I'm considering putting in a quality steel entry door...

    Let's see your toolbox.

I did it. I finally pulled the trigger. I broke down and spent the money. Oddly missing that feeling of euphoria, but I haven't transferred my tools into it yet and set up shop. Once i start rearranging the shop to make room for this I'm sure I'll get giddy. Looked over the new Icon chest...

    Show your new tool arrivals

No worries JimDon. Outlets in my shop are protected by properly spaced GFCI. Regardless, this never crossed my mind. The wire has obviously been replaced on the thing. I should open it up and check things out. I thought you were going to mention it continues to coast and wind down after the...

    240V Compressor

I had a top of the line 120v Craftsman air cooler twin cylinder I blew up running a blast cabinet. Spit the rod out the side of the case. Went online and found a commercial air compressor company locally called Wayne Vaughn. Bought a refurbished oil bath 240v with a large cast iron pump (as...

Ever wonder if the lifetime warranty on Craftsman killed Sears? Here we go again!

I remember it like yesterday. Early/mid 2000's I cracked an 8mm socket replacing a rack and pinion on my Taurus. Drove 25 minutes to the big Sears to get it replaced for free. Was quickly told they'd need to send it in and I'd get a replacement in a week or two by mail. Getting pissed I...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Well, not new, but new to me. Dad scored this at at estate sale. Apparently there were 3 of them, this was the best one. He got it - for $5. He said there were LOTS of tools there and just grabbed this because he thought I'd like it (yes). Wish I'd have taken the day off work and brought...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Repairing a choke cable on a V65 Magna Aluminum foil tape followed by 2 sheaths of shrink wrap. I finished it all off with black. Cable still operates smoothly but shot some cable lube in for good measure. New turn signal stem and kickstand rubber stop next. Then the carbs into the...

Tool box solution (portable) for car work...

I second the HF 5 drawer, maybe put some pneumatic castors on it if you need. I bought one to put most used tools in when repairing cars. 3/8" sockets and wrenches. Impacts, channel locks, etc. Works great and saves me a ton of time walking back and forth to my large chest when I can wheel...

70’s Themed San Francisco Motorcycle Garage

I'm so in for this make over. Love your style. Haven't made it outside of North America on my bike - yet, but most of the states and some of Canada. Thanks for the link on those lights - ordered. For the love of everything holy, put that chandelier back up. Tell guests it came out of the...

    Powder coating at home

I had a small LLC powder coating for several years. Lots of fun, can make money once you know what you are doing and create a niche for yourself. Lots of mine was mail order and I've forgotten how many states my work is in as well as a few countries. Some of it made the cover of a motorcycle...
