Help me pick the right pressure washer for shop

They manufacture tips with varying orifice dimensions. (Not to be confused with the spray angle) Going to a larger orifice will lower the operating pressure. And depending on the pump type, can also either raise/lower the flow rate a bit, but not always. I did this to my little...

    Icon brake tools (wind back)

I will say the Icon kit comes in a real nice case. That was worth the few extra $$$ to me, since it was purchased to live in the car trailer for track events. Other than that, the other commodity kits work just fine.

    Concrete pad for water heater

I used a couple concrete paver stones from Lowes, and shimmed them plumb with a few SS washers. No need to get fancy.

Is Milton good for water separators and filters?

I went Pneumatic Plus for my combo unit, and no complaints. They have a reasonably complete catalog.

    Recommend me a dehumidifier

I have a 5yo GE unit that's served me well in the basement and still going. I have a 1yo Midea in the garage that's bricked from a welded relay contact on the compressor. Thankfully the external thermal protection means it didn't burn my building down.

    American Made router bits

Whiteside. Very fair price for the quality. I won't buy anything else unless I'm in a pinch. Amana Tool is also a good one. I've not used their router bits, but lots of their various countersink and counterbore bits and they are also very fair and good quality.

Converting old halogen light to LED

They make LED fixtures that look identical to the 500W halogen fixtures. And they're not terribly expensive. Example https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DR7QR8B/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Wago products.

Wago makes many products. I wonder if he's talking about the "stab-in" or "push-in" style? I don't trust those from ANY manufacturer. Wago's lever nuts (series 221 and 222) are great, and I'll never use a wire nut again for 10awg and thinner. Especially when there's a mix of solid/stranded...

Old home subfloor - what would you do?

Not garage related, but hoping the community might have some advice. I have an old home I'm fixing up. It's obvious this home was built with scraps from another building. Plank subfloor, which had been covered with 1/2" particle board and carpeted. The original subfloor has lots of gaps and...

    Free Drafting Program wanted

I use the same. It's a bit like working with an old version of autocad. Perfect for home use. Really wish autodesk would provide a solution for home users at a reasonable price. 2k a year is a level above bonkers for home use.

Wire gauge and circuit breaker requirement

You should only use the 90C column if you're calculating rating adjustment due to ambient temps not at 104 degF. You'll be limited by the least common denominator of your termination points. Will either be 60C or 75C, never 90C. I don't have anything newer than NEC2017 handy ATM (could be a...

    Smaller wire int larger lugs

You'd be correct if this were a subpanel application in which you must make some different assumptions on load. As a main feeder, it's fine for 100A. This is why many people get confused when running #2 MHF to subs, because the supply house assumes you're using as a main feed, and tell you...

    Milwaukee M18 Tire Inflator Thoughts?

Depends. Adding less than 10psi to only 1 tire? Sure. Past that, you need a more robust unit in general. Heat builds quicker as pressure increases. I’m quite happy with the M18 performance on typical LT tires. (80psi max)

    Milwaukee M18 Tire Inflator Thoughts?

You’d think so, but they will melt long before that happens. My M18 has a longer duty cycle than my backup that’s powered by cigarette lighter. And it runs for 1/2 the time. So it’s effectively at least 2x the utility. Unless it’s a 100% duty cycle unit (uncommon), power source is pretty...

    Milwaukee M18 Tire Inflator Thoughts?

I've had the 12V version for while now. It's main purpose was to make pressure adjustments to car tires while at the race track. Secondary benefit was for the truck/trailer. My only real gripe was run time. It didn't take long for it to get HOT, especially when operating at higher pressures...
