My driveway looked just like that and it has been 20+ years and no problem with it poping or any other separating problems.The white is calcium in the mix it will go away after some time. If you do need to pull it up it will be hell with all that steel in it. Just keep watering it for a while...

That helmet he is using is nothing like the one you have posted here. I have the same helmet he is using and it is a flat faced one with a small lens, and yes those are molded in stiffing ribs on the side.

Bingo, that is the way it is done. top it first and work your way down, use a long strong rope and have someone on the pull rope to make sure they drop where you want them to go. Not really hard at all.

If that paint is that soft you might want to strip it as their is a good chance when you put the sealer on it it will lift.

I will be willing to bet their is rust and **** in the calipers, and the pistons will be hanging soon enough, plus with the rust the calipers get bound up and won't slide on the bracket and will cause pulling to one side or the other and uneven pad wear. As cheap as rebuilt ones are no reason...
