Anybody have electric cable heat under a tile floor?

I'm wondering about installing electric cable radiant heat under a porcelain tile floor. Has anyone done this? Will it compromise the strength of the tile install? This would be installed over my concrete floor.

Air Compressor, deal or no deal

That's not a bad deal. I recently went to look at a used one with the same specs.. He was asking $800.00. Probably around $1,500. new. See the picture for that model number...

Installation cost for top notch epoxy job?

The guy who gave me the quote told me the exact same thing. I wasn't too excited by the floor example I saw today. I'm going to check out the porcelain more thoroughly. Even though I'm probably looking at like $4k.

Installation cost for top notch epoxy job?

I'm just looking for some ideas on cost. A way to compare material choices mostly. To me, any cost differences for materials between a couple of top epoxy systems is insignificant. There will be a price per sq. ft.. None of the above. I would have included those complications in my request if...

Thinking about boxing in my air compressor

Well, of course it's gonna get hot in a garage in Maui. Isn't that the point of the extra headroom and the top vent in the box? To allow the heat to move up and out?

Thinking about boxing in my air compressor

LEVE, What sort of insulation did you use. Regular batting? Or rigid foam? Did you enclose the bottom or floor part too?

Thinking about boxing in my air compressor

If it is not subject to too much moisture what about using a 3/4 inch MDF? Easier to paint and would absorb more sound? The pegboard would help as well I'm thinking. Furnace vents would probably work or you could just drill a group of holes. Either way if it were me I might cut a piece off a...

rock solid top coat not drying

I realize now that it is not epoxy but polyurea. Their website says the install temp can be as low as 0*. Your ratios were probably correct because they were pre-measured. So I think that still leaves how well it was mixed together as the probable issue. If it were me the next step would be...

rock solid top coat not drying

Sounds like a possible mixing issue. As in not mixed thoroughly enough. I really hope I'm wrong. My experience with 2 part epoxy has been with boatbuilding and repairs not floor coatings. What is "room temp?"

Installation cost for top notch epoxy job?

Any ideas on cost of install for a full service epoxy job? My floor is 345 sq. ft.. 15'x23'. My current thinking is white. :headscrat I'm also going to look at porcelain tile with a darker epoxy grout. Which will cost me $7 sq. ft. for everything but the tile.
