    Craftsman 150 drill press purchase

In my area that would be $150+ From the photos it's missing some key parts. The guide stop and collar as well as the quill lock and handle are MIA. Hard to tell, but it may be missing the feed return spring and knob as well. The Craftsman badge looks very beat up and can be difficult to...

They Cut off the foundation J-Bolts?

It's PT, Designed for Decks, fences and other outdoor applications that are not in contact with the ground. Has a green tinge, but not the deep green typically found on ground contact PT lumber. Corner shear anchors will be installed. They are not the embedded style.

They Cut off the foundation J-Bolts?

Folks, this building is engineered, permitted and approved. This is a traditional pole building and the poles carry the main vertical load of the building. The poles are 48 inches into the soil and encased with concrete. The foundation and stoop is monolithic with 12" footings on the parameter...

They Cut off the foundation J-Bolts?

Folks, appreciate all the comments. Had a meeting with the owner and the entire wall is coming down and being rebuilt. The sill plate is pressure treated and they used the right materials. The lines on the sill plate show that it was measured right, but studs were placed on wrong sides of the...

They Cut off the foundation J-Bolts?

I'm having an enclosed pole barn built. The walls are 2x6 studs placed 24 OC. Some are 24, some more, some less. I find this to be very sloppy, but I'll reserve judgement until I hear from a few of the pros. The wall was up when I came home and discovered that they cut off 6-8 J-Bolts that...

    What chainsaw would you recommend?

I have a Husqvarna 350 that I bought new in 2004. I've taken care of it and used only quality high octane premixed fuel. Still runs great. I've gone through a number of light duty home owner saws and they just weren't enough for me.

Places you DON'T want to find Snap On tools

Don't need your name on them. I'm in the aviation industry and there are several methods of tool and hardware control. Some of the smaller A&P shops require you to have your own tools. In general, Tools are strictly tracked by number or tool kit number. Each employee has a number that is used...

    Trash night finds

Over the years I've repaired dozens of mowers, edgers, weed wackers, and assorted other lawn equipment found while curb shopping. Made some decent pocket money on the resale. Couple of my highlights are a Coleman Lantern, Coleman Stove and a Poulan Pro Chainsaw. Still own these and the work...

    Sears closing 50 more stores -- 2016

This is the truth. Our Sears has sales people and 3-4 at the counter that watch and follow you around the store. Don't even think about going by the appliances because you will be hounded by several that won't leave you alone. Overall, the store is empty and prices are very expensive. Same...

    Central House/garage vacuum system?

We have one and it doesn't get used very much if at all. House is 38 years old and we used it a lot when we first moved in, but dragging the long bulky hose from room to room got old quick. Maybe newer ones are different, but the one we have is not very convienient.

Can I trust this self-built table to hold an aluminum V8?

I really don't understand the logic when an engine stand is less than $40 from Harbor Frieght. I've built VW engines on my bench, heck I've even started them on the bench. But Flatheads and Other V8s are much easier with a stand.

Minimum ceiling height for a loft?

Toomany, I was admiring your loft. I have a 36w X 30d X 12h pole barn going going up. I basically see how you did it. Looks like it's 30 feet long and about 7.5 high. Are the 2x6 posts you built anchored to the floor in some way.
