    Pressure wash garage floor

Unless your drywall is the green board stuff made for wet areas, you don't want to get it 'any' wet. Seal it off well with plastic and tape before unleashing the pressure washer.

    New finish over old

Hey, thanks much for the response and detailed info. I'm especially encouraged that you did not say "epoxy will definitely not work over existing paint". Since the areas where we pull our cars in is already down to bare concrete, I should at least be getting the best bond where it's really...

    New finish over old

After putting up with a terrible garage floor in the house we moved into 1-1/2 years ago, I'm planning to take care of it once warm weather is here to stay. I suspect the existing finish was regular floor paint, judging from how it's completely lifted where hot tires have run on it. And that...

    Garage door opener issue

This certainly would not apply to problems opening the door, but I did learn recently that the safety sensors should be installed so that they are facing in opposite directions when you have side-by-side doors. Mine had been installed with the red sensors on both doors facing the same way, and...

    MaxJax Group Buy Announcement

Yeah, lets get those elbows swinging.:lol_hitti Personally, I think it's generous of Danmar to offer 20 units at such a discounted price. They aren't under any obligation to sell at anything below retail if that's their choice. Let's give them a chance to sort it all out if they want...

Garage rear "service" door, for mower and stuff

Sounds like you're looking for the doors they use on the 5-0 wide mini-storage units. They're pretty cheap - nothing more than a corrugated length of sheet with a track. Google 'mini warehouse' and see if you can't track down a door supplier.

    Stick building vs Metal building

Don't forget to add the cost of the foundation, piers, and anchor bolts for the metal building. If the anchor bolts aren't set properly for a metal building you'll be fighting it all the way through the erection process. You can add liner panels inside the building to protect the insulation...

G73 More on electric heat !

My experience with the G73 is similar. Last week my 28 x 32 x 10 was about 50F when the temp outside was about 5 below. The heater was set below the "Low" mark on the dial, and was not running continuously. I have R13 and drywall on walls and ceiling, two 8 x 8 insulated doors, and one man...

    Electric Heater Thoughts? again...

Try the G73. You can't go wrong with the price. I installed one last year and it keeps my 28-0 x 32-0 x 10-0 garage at 55F using the next-to-lowest setting on the thermostat. I have R13 insulation and drywall on the ceiling and walls, two insulated 8-0 x 8-0 garage doors and a personnel door...

    R value of uninsulated brick?

But be careful about leaving flammable surfaces exposed in a garage. That might be a "gotcha".

    how many BTU's?

It probably depends on how warm you want to keep it. In my 28 x 32 with 10' ceiling I just wanted it to stay above freezing in W. PA. It's pretty tight, R13 roof and walls, dry wall, and two insulated 8 x 8 garage doors with a man door. I bought a 220V Dayton heater, 17,100 BTU, and it's been...
