HF Toolboxes Workbench - Phase 3

Made some progress on my rendition of the bench today. It really turned out to be a LOT of counter space! Now I need to measure for my steel top and get it ordered and figure out how to organize my junk!

HF Toolboxes Workbench - Phase 3

I've been working on my Steevo inspired bench the past few days. The big thing in my area are the McTavish benches and while they are nice they are really expensive and with so many deep drawers they are somewhat poor managers of space. I purchased three 44" boxes on Black Friday and started...

    Any agriculture mechanics?

I'm not a mechanic but as a farmer I've paid the mechanic plenty and spent enough time in the shop to realize that you will not regret owning a quality electrical meter and electrical crimping tools. Weatherpack, Deutsch, Metripack, etc. We had a tractor ($250,000 machine) get struck by...

Getting Ready for my custom HF workbench

I plan on an L-shape design with similar dimensions to Steevo's bench but the inside box on the right side will be replaced with shelves.

Getting Ready for my custom HF workbench

After the disastrous Nebraska/Iowa FB game today my BIL and I went to HF and I picked up three 44" rolling tool cabinets for $369 each. My plan is to put together a setup similar to Steevo's but instead of four cabinets I plan on having a bank of shelves (maybe with doors) for larger items...

    Show us your welding projects

I've been working on custom patio railings for our front and back patios. The top and bottom rails are 1x3 tubing. The balusters are 1.5" square tubing, and the posts are 3x3 tubing. I found some decorative caps online and am going to have everything powder coated white. I plan on using...

Does concrete make for a good ground?

On most new construction here everything is grounded to a piece of rebar stubbed out of the concrete. They claim it is better than a single rod through the concrete and into the soil.

    Show us your welding projects

I did put some 2x2x1/4 on the bottom side of the table to keep the top flat. The table turned out real nice but I somehow got about 1/16 to 1/8 crown in part of it. I'm not sure if it because my shop floor is crappy or if I didn't have the bottom of the top clean when I positioned the frame.

    Show us your welding projects

I've only posted here a few times so I'm excited to here thoughts and opinions. Here is my 4x8 welding table with a 1/2 thick top. I plan on mounting a vice to a receiver tube welded to one of the legs to keep it lower to the ground yet. I learned to weld in high school nearly 20 years ago...

    Clamping to Drill Press table

FMC, with the vicegrip brand clamp you are showing I'm assuming I would need to cut the bolt end to the correct length and put the appropriate size nut and washer on it to work in the T track?

    Clamping to Drill Press table

It does have a drain hole in the back left corner but the drill press itself does not a coolant system.

    Clamping to Drill Press table

Good Evening everyone. Im a First time poster here so I'll give a little history on myself. I'm a farmer in the midwest and my "garage" is a 70x80x19 building with a 36'x16x overhead door. The majority of the work that happens in here is general machine maintenance and setup. I just...
