    Zoro Deals Thread

Great deal on that - there are also a couple of other Gedore sets marked down to the same price: 1/2 Metric Bit Socket Set Screwdriver Set

My first Tekton purchase - a crowsfoot organizer. Solid space saver in my overly full box...that's probably going to be a purchase sooner than later.

New set of Allen Keys needed

I own a lot of hex keys, they're one of my most used tools. Current favorite is Eight Tools. Their taper head hey keys are some of the best I've ever used in terms of fitment (especially the ball end): https://www.eight-tool.co.jp/en/tapaer-head I also really like Wera Hex Plus and they've...

Milwaukee's latest Impacts vs Old School Air

I own a bunch of Milwaukee stuff, it's awesome and there are a lot of jobs that those tools enable or massively speed up. There are some tools that really only exist via air - spray guns, air hammer, etc. And I think air impacts are often more powerful than their battery counterparts in actual...

I've tried to solder before but never really learned or practiced much. I have a few projects that I'd like to tackle that require decent soldering. I picked up this little solder station on Amazon for about $30. It's not fancy by any means but it's a lot more maneuverable than the $10 units...

I bought a bunch of Apex 838 bit holders (3/8" drive bit holder for 1/4" hex bits) from Grainger. They were $1.16/ea. I might need to order some of Apex's bits to try out in these as my Wera bits are a very loose fit.

Bunch of stuff I've picked up recently. Mostly Snap-on - from my dealer, Zoro, and FB Marketplace. Someone else recently posted in this thread asking for part numbers so I'll do my best to list everything top to bottom. Snap-on 112STMMY - 12pc 1/4 Metric Deep socket set Snap-on A161B - Trim...

All of my BMWs (and other makes too) have had slightly oval or oblong strut top mounting holes. I think that E46 may have been clearanced a bit more. But you only need a few mm of adjustment to get everything evened out most of the time. For anything more aggressive you’d still want camber...

Wright Tools Disappointment (Transforms to Respect)

I wouldn't pay for a wrench set with these flaws. If they aren't made to spec, they shouldn't be sold (or at least not at full price). I'd ask to exchange for a new set, if that was declined I'd just return and buy from another manufacturer.

Box end flex head offset ratcheting wrenches

FWIW the Icon set seems to go on sale for ~40% off a couple of times a year. I bought them earlier this year for just under $140 before tax.

Insanely bad customer service experience from Matco

I'd file a chargeback. Matco knows the language they are using is deceptive, the credit card will agree. I wouldn't spend any more time interacting with a company operating in bad faith.

Any info on the Daytona 6 ton jack stands

The 6 ton stands are solid, have used them on my pickups no problem. Pretty burly.

Ended up buying a bit more from the seller with all the Starrett tools. The No.721 digital caliper was hard to pass up. It needs a repair of the battery contact but appears to be otherwise unused. The Digitapes were just too cool and the 50' tape is something I've wanted for a while. A few...

Went to pick up these very cool Starrett vise display stands off Marketplace (I think they were used for tradeshows). They're relatively light, but sturdy. I'm going to mount them to metal plates and then mount vises to them. The seller had a bunch of other Starrett stuff so I picked up a long...

The Craftsman ones have been working well for me in 1/4". They're slender, they don't drop sockets, and they seem to fit pretty well without too much slop (mainly with Snap On sockets/ratchets). I don't think they'd do so hot with a lot of torque so that's been part of why I'm interested in...

Really like the pushbutton locking extensions, I have some cheapo Craftsman ones in 1/4" and prefer them to the collar style. Might have to consider the Stahlwilles for the future as an upgrade!

New Snap On vs HF "Quality test"?

I'm always shocked at how empty some of these boxes are - filled with foam. I wouldn't pull all the drawers out at once in my box.
