    Vintage S-K Tools

I picked up this unmarked sk set of 1/4” sockets today. No brand, no “chrome alloy”, nothing. Just the sizes.

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

I got out to a few sales this morning. Only scored at one. 20 bucks got me a 21oz hart hammer, pack of cut off wheels, craftsman wrenches and cotterpin puller, oil filter wrench, steering wheel spinner, ignition wrench set, and my two favorites, an a. plomb wrench and a set of unmarked sk ish...

Interesting fact: today I found my fourth pebble 1210 in the wild. Odd.

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

A quick trip to the flea market netted me a 4 dollar handful of tools. Another plomb 1210, snap on ignition wrench, and a broken artisan 3/8” ratchet. I think I can fix it up with some spare sk guts. On the wayhome I stopped at a garage sale and grabbed a vintage bmw motorcycle tool kit. All...

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

I hit up two estate sales today. First one was a bust, but I managed to get rid of 20 bucks at the second one. A plomb 3/4” breaker bar and extension, a wf dbe, and a set of =v= craftsman metric combos with a mac replacement for the 12mm.

Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!

I just checked my spare wf8’s. They all are broken in that spot! This one is only half broken. It still works fine though if you want it. It’ll get that firestone up and running at least…

Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!

I honestly can’t remember. I know I didn’t use a rebuild kit. I did find these parts from a wf8 in my shed, which makes me think I used the plate with the lever to fix the firestone. The broken face plate is chrome and doesn’t match the plomb like it does the firestone. The parts are definitely...

Nice haul. Some real neat oddballs in there. I’m having a hard time figuring out how this one was used.

I went back to yesterday’s garage sale to see if I could find the breaker bar to that hinsdale set I bought. I struck out on that, but I did pick up 4 hinsdale combos for a buck. I guess I’m a hinsdale guy now?

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

Hit a garage sale while I was out and about. It was pretty picked over, but I did get a Blackhawk breaker bar and a cool old Hinsdale set. 3/8 drive and labeled a 13j. All the sockets are there and the crossbar. Looks like it’s just missing the breaker bar. Oddly enough, it includes a 21/32”...

Proto Tools Picture Thread - Post Yours!

I bought this proto la ratchet for a dollar strictly for the novelty. It’s a plain steel grind off with an unfinished handle, and broken to boot. Poor thing. Someone managed to break a dog and one of the teeth. Pictured next to a more normal example.

Scored some more plomb today. The wrenches are pretty crusty, but I was stoked to find the dual marked breaker.

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

Here’s my flea market finds for today. Handy Andy faucet repair kit box, some plomb wrenches, a dual marked breaker bar, and the ugliest proto LA ratchet I’ve seen. It must have snuck out of the factory unfinished. Everything was a buck a piece except the dual marked 5265.

Multitools - what say you? Aye or Nay?

I feel like I have to stick up for The multitool. This victorinox spirit is on my belt ever single workday. It has a nice selection of tools and saves me countless trips to the van. I feel naked without it. I have about 6 years on this one. Just about time for a new sheath.

2025 Garage Sale Thread (14th Annual)

I stopped at two yard sales today. Neither had much in the way of tools, but I found a big hunk of plomb at each one. The 32oz Paschall hammer head cost me 6 cents an ounce. The 3070 doe was 10 bucks, but I couldn’t resist.
