    TV in the garage

I would like to mount a large TV on the wall in my garage, but am unsure if it could handle the cold environment (as I heat it as I need it).....or do I have to maintain above freezing to keep it on the wall (as opposed to bringing it in for the winter)....Suggestions/thoughts?

    Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

I bought one of those Husky tool boxes at HD ...they're great & I'd highly recommend. Originally, I was suspicious of its quality, but bought anyway. The socket drawer is the perfect height for deep wells and all drawers seemd very solid.......and my son bought a similar roll around box that was...

Heating my new 1500 sqft garage

I have been offline for a while....working on the garage and helping my son build his house - but now I have time for me..... I now have it partitioned into a 3-stall garage for the standard sheet metal wheels and a shop for the toys which is about 23x41 feet. I have installed a 150K BTU...

Heating my new 1500 sqft garage

I will attach some pictures soon. You're exactly right, I will have a floor halfway to the ceiling which is nominally 25 feet off the garage floor. I will be creating a wall between 3-stall garage and the rest of it, which will leave me about 20' wide by 40' deep. I will only heat the 20x40...

    Mezzanine

I landed on an 85#/sqft for the design. I hate flimsy/bouncy floors. The technical folks at Weyerhauser were fantastic - answered all my questions.....and I had a bunch! I arrived at Weyerhauser TJI560 14" I-joists at 16" spacing. To accomodate my small 1500# hoist (to be placed in the center of...

Heating my new 1500 sqft garage

After three or four 2 and 3 stall garages, I finally went all out and built "my kind of garage" when we built our new house. It is 1500 sqft with 23' ceilings. I am building a mezzaine off to one side which sits next to a 22'x40' long stall. I purchased a 150k BTU downdraft furnace on craigslist...

    Hoisting tools to the attic?

What capacity hoist do you have? I have a mezzaine overhead (12' off the floor) that I want to build a hoist to pickup a 4'x6' platform to bring 4 wheelers, jet skis, whatever upstairs to work on them...thinking limiting to 2500 pounds, but need some cool ideas on how to do it. I would perfer to...

    torpedo heater sputtering

I have a torpedo heater that when I plug it in, it starts up, flame comes out, but the flame drops out and then back in at about 2 second intervals...after doing that for 20 seconds or so it pushes out a large mist of air/fuel and turns off....then unplug & replug resets it and starts over with...

    Mezzanine

You're right....I talked with Weyerhaeuser and they told me to use 14" TJIs on 16" spacing, but I'll do 12" spacing for added structure....should be good for 30000...will let you know how it goes

    Mezzanine

Thanks for all your comments....Yes I was talking about 20,000 pounds generally spread out....sandblaster, parts washer, press, tools, parts, etc. I plan to build a trolley like system with a bucket to get things up there.... Jimp, Is there a lumber yard you recommend I call that could help?
