Made in England Wolf Power Tools

I have been collecting Wolf power tools for nostalgia and to use around the house and just thought I would share what I believe to have been one of the highest quality power tools of the 1970s. The collection was inspired by memories of my father who had one of the large 'gut buster' drills...

Workbench - Buying better that building!

Thank you for your kind comment on my Flickr account. I have a lot of garage related stuff still to post - mainly older tools and my incomplete collection of Wolf Power Tools. I have tried to organise the whole thing in albums (Land Rovers, Projects, tractor brands etc) so people can see what...

It's hard to beat just going for a bargain on the very odd occasion one comes along. Time is more precious than money - the older we get!

Workbench - Buying better that building!

I have seen some excellent welding tables and workbenches on Garage Journal and they have often inspired me to build one of my own. I have always wanted to build my own bench and make it at least as good as the one I had when I lived with my parents. After pricing some materials and then...

    Tools from the old world

I'm not sure if these Wolf 4" & 9" grinders are of interest to anyone. I have been collecting a few Wolf/Kango tools to use and admire over the past few years here are two that I think belong on the same shelf in the workshop...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Hello CRSINMICH's and thanks for the comment. I had a look at the vice you mentioned and it does look very similar. Unfortunately I don't know anything about Fortis. I have taken another photo of the vice jaws which isn't great but I will upload a better one of the vice and the military markings...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I just thought I would share a photo of my Fortis vice which is soon to be bolted to a 'new' bench. It will get a clean up first of course but I don't think I will paint it as it is for work and I like the way it is! https://www.flickr.com/photos/k_garrett/22558514520/in/dateposted-public/ Sorry...

    Vice Advice.

I have been using a Fortis vice for about 10 years now it was a Ministry of Defence item. Underneath the military 'cockpit green' it appears to have been dark green originally. I have been trying to upload a photo without success - but managed a link to Flickr! They are a really well built vice...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Hello Thomas, They say that confession is good for the soul - so here goes! I have been watching/lurking since about page 45 or was it 55 and thought it was time I said thank you. I have never had the nerve to write anything until now as I have felt that I am not contributing anything but I do...
