    rattle_snake's random shop projects v0.1

That crossmember looks pretty Bitchen' for a production assembly. I've always heard about the Crown Vic stuff, but I've never looked at it. Good choice; off the shelf parts, factory level engineering, and it genuinely looks damn nice.

Badass detail in the bench! A great tribute for an accomplished individual.

    Best Ratchet Straps Ever?

I keep these straps in my truck; they are nice.

Wright Tools Disappointment (Transforms to Respect)

I'm wondering if the forging dies got damaged and they had to make due with others? It doesn't appear anyone else's Wright's look like these.

Wright Tools Disappointment (Transforms to Respect)

Yours do look at little wonky. Here are the polished Wright's (outside wrenches) next to a set of Blackhawk ratcheting wrenches. The open ends are definitely bulkier, but I wouldn't say obscenely.

Electric lawnmowers in 2026 - any good?

I just picked up a Honda, but it's been raining since it showed up this week. Glad to hear you like it......Lord knows ot wasn't cheap.

Wright Tools Disappointment (Transforms to Respect)

I've got full sets of MM/SAE Wright Combos that I picked up just over a year ago. So far, I've really enjoyed them. I haven't been wrenching as much lately, but I've been happy with my purchase. I replaced a set of Blackhawk (Proto) wrenches that had peeling chrome issues. I think it's a thing...

All this talk about Porsche interiors reminds me of a story my grandfather told me years ago. He was at a bar in the Garmisch Partenkirchen area in Bavaria and he sparked up a conversation with a "Stammgast" (local, regular). My grandfather asked him what he did for a living and the guy said he...

    New MAC Axis ratchets

I'll be honest, it looks like a cheap, dated design. There's a bunch of Taiwan imports I'd buy first. The head and selector look unnecessarily large, and the roll marks look like something from a discount brand. Looking at the picture of the MAC next to the Proto, it's hard to believe the MAC is...

I always look at Justin's projects and think "definitely an engineer!" He's always got unique ideas and solutions. It's cool to watch.

Damn Scott, the Texaco station turned out awesome! Some day I'm going to need you to do a Gulf station for me.

Congrats Mike! Time to pull the wagon off the wall! You'll love the Starlink, wi-fi calling is the best when you're out in BFE and have a problem, or if your wife has a Zoom call while you're going down the road. I set mine up with the same username and password as my home wifi and 90% of our...

    Some of Bodj Built's builds

The one and only Barstow to Laughlin trip I did resulted in a very similar mechanical nightmare! I vividly remember our group of 4 cars blowing a wheel (and tire), 2 spindles, brake line, an alternator, and one car finished with 3rd gear only. To top it off, we couldn't find the fuel that we had...

DR Leaf Vacuum The Good, The Bad

I have one that has been a piece of **** the whole time we've owned it. This season I had to buy overpriced part after part to keep it in service. I wish I would've scrapped it and bought a new unit instead of continuing to fix it, but I was just trying to reduce down time. We will be buying a...

Can we completely replace our combo wrenches with ratcheting ones yet?

I love ratcheting wrenches, but they don't replace a standard combination wrench in tight clearance situations or for high torque applications.

Any recommendations for courses? I see the value in it, and I have a couple of ideas on how I could implement it. I just know nothing about the methods of actually using it.

Talk to us about how you're using AI. I was talking to my wife's cousin and he said he did 3 months worth of work in one day as part of his Phd project.

HF US General tool chest drawer trim - black

I've seen vinyl look really good. I wonder if a big batch of anodizing wouldn't be too expensive; especially plain black.

    Lisle Tap Socket Set 70500

Do those stay tight? I looked at them, but was concerned the tap would come loose when going "backwards" to clear chips.
