There are plenty of installations of people using their existing pad, so long as it's thick enough. I'd say the vast majority of all MaxJax installs are done with an existing pad and not with a new pour. Perhaps GJ guys take it a step too far, but search on other forums and there's not many...

Lots of us picked these up for <$20 when they were on the IR closeout site. Some people have had problems with them too, so for that price it might be better to look for other options. I haven't had problems with any of the 5 I bought though.
