    the bionic doghouse

Thanks! It'll take a while though, due in no small part to the weather. We've had 12 inches of snow in the last couple of days and looks like it's going to get a lot worse.

    Gerstner & Sons

Re: Gerstner & Sons A couple of years ago,I bought a lathe from a friend.Just as a deal was struck, and almost as an afterthought,he said,"Oh yeah, there's an old tool box full of machinists tools to go with it". It's not in the best of shape, the black covering is lifting as is the green...

    Garage circa 1860

Thanks mate,I'm desperate to get working on the Ford but need to get the garage done first due to lack of space. Certainly is a big chunk of work.Basically doing 2 jobs, rennovating the old structure and converting into something suitable to use as a garage.Doesn't make things easy working with...

    Garage circa 1860

Thanks, glad you like it!Yes,it's a pretty big project, would have been quicker/cheaper to demolish and start from scratch. In fact, that was the initial idea but,due to planning issues,I've had to work with what I've got.

    Garage circa 1860

The original electrical supply and wiring was in a SHOCKING state! All needed replacing.I scored big time on that one.The electricity company came round and told us that they'd be cutting off the supply one Saturday to do some upgrades.I advised them that I worked from home and couldn't be...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT British Garage planned

Look forward to the build starting! I can sympathise with you regarding 'planning'.I had planned to demolish an old cottage and build a new steel portal framed workshop.First off they said I could build under permitted development but due to the size(108 sq mtr),I'd need a building warrant.Also...

    My shop. Stable rastoration.

Great job on the barn!Lots of character in older buildings.I'm converting an old Scottish farm house(built 1860) into my new garage. It's nowhere near the size of your barn but should be big enough for what I need. By the way, your English is fine, better than my Norwegian, anyway!

    Altro resin systems?

Thanks mate, for the info and kind offer of help.Like you say, shipping to the U.K. is a killer. By coincidence,my son dropped by today with a sample of the Altro Screed. We beat the living **** out of it!LOL We were both very impressed with its toughness.I think that's the way I'll go.I didn't...

    My new dream shop

I think I can forgive you for the few Chevys as there's plenty of cool stuff there too.:bounce: I guess preserving those patterns is the sensible thing to do but, wouldn't it be great to have a Q/C from the original moulds!

    My new dream shop

Wow,what a place!Even better when filled with old cars, particularly early Fords(I'm building a '29 R.P.U.) Any plans to cast up some new/old quick change rears?I don't think there'll be any shortage of customers!LOL

    Altro resin systems?

Thanks for your input.I was thinking along the same lines.I have a contact that can hopefully, get this stuff at trade price, which is great, but I don't want to jump in with both feet and buy it if it's not suitable. His company have used it but, only in the medical and catering industries with...

    Altro resin systems?

I'm considering using Altro's ALTRO SCREED QUARTZ on the concrete floor of my garage build. Anybody on here used it? How was it to apply? How does it stand up in use, jacks and stands? How does it stand up to heavy impacts? Thanks, Mark.
