    Harbor Freight ICON Magnetic Matt

I haven't used one - yet. But they appear to be faced with a smooth fake naugahideish material that wouldn't snag shavings, rather than a loose weave fabric.

    Harbor Freight ICON Magnetic Matt

I have seen those in the Big River, at better prices but with 83 magnets .. I'm not how many HF has, or how many is "enuff"

    Dental Torque Wrench

Guy putting in one of my implants dropped the socket he was using to screw in the post screw .. of course he said don't swallow and of course I did. Guy was a graduate dentist in the Prosthodontics program at the time. So they sent me for xrays, which led to more hilarity ..

    FS: Snap-On 3/8" Ratchets S-O-L-D

I've two (2X) older Snap-On ratchets that I don't need. Both have had new rebuild kits installed (the anvils show that). Some exterior wear as shown but they operate as intended. Conus only via PayPal. $ 50 for both plus Postage ( USPS or buyers choice for those fees). Thanks

    1 = 3 screwdrivers

Reading through this a realization started to grow that I had had one of these. Took some looking but in the miscellaneous screwdriver area was this - it is stamped by GAM in Lancaster, the cellophane bears the imprint UAW Health & Safety. Must have picked it up back in my plant days ..

Could you see EGO enter the hand tool market?

Not sure if the OP was asking about manual hand tools or power? Either would suffer from EG's reportedly spotty or at least unknown to me customer service, and as already pointed out their battery system is too bloated and heavy for hand tool use. The EGO battery is the downfall unless you...

    Electric Pressure Washer

I bought that same unit in 2017, have used it most frequently for a foam gun on the car. It works on my patios and siding, and good enough that my shiftless neighbor borrows it repeatedly to do his deck and outdoor furniture. It makes lots less noise than the gasser that the lady on the other...

    HOA horrors?

Depends on the terms of your HOA and the individuals you elect to serve on the Board. What always gets me is the trashy people who buy in and at closing agree to the terms of the HOA, then decide they want to do whatever they please.

Best bang for the buck bottom box?

That last gets me to thinking - not sure I really need both of the old Craftsman toolbenches hogging up space. Maybe replace one with a bottom box and file .. hmm

Vertical hanging my gas leaf blower

The gas leakage is the problem I had when I tried to jury-rig a hanger for my Stihl.

Thinking about paving driveway - things to look out for?

That long a drive means that the cost advantage of asphalt over concrete is multiplied. But concrete does last longer. Here my next door neighbor and I did the original drives the same summer around 30 years ago. I cheaped out with 4" of asphalt, at that time he paid 3X more for concrete...

    YouTube Tool Reviews

+1 I agree, but must confess that I have never seen anything worthwhile on that, but google keeps bringing that **** up when I try and find something. I'm of the opinion that the popularity of do-it-yourself videos is a reflection of a growing illiteracy in our society as a whole. And it ain't...

What temperature do you set your hot water to?

+1 Same 5 of us but we had 40 gallons and the third shower was best taken quickly. Times have changed but I still do with a 40 as nothing bigger will fit in the utility closet. Looked at tankless the last time but too pricey for an old coot so I accept the Legionnaires Challenge

What temperature do you set your hot water to?

I'm not sure this house has a cooling tower, so why would the 120 °F recommendation cite Legionnaires?

What temperature do you set your hot water to?

Has anyone here ever contracted Legionnaires Disease? Had it traced to their water heater's temperature?

What temperature do you set your hot water to?

Yikes, mine is set to what amounts to 108 to 110°F at the taps, there's some adjustments for the seasons .. seems I read somewhere or another that 120 F° is the ideal temperature but that's too high for me
