Who makes the best flare nut wrenches?

That's good to know about Petersen, thanks!

Which SO to buy: 10-12 flank or 10 open/flare?

Ok, which wrench is better, i.e. "guaranteed" to remove brake fittings and such, the 10-12 flank or the 10 open/flare? Thanks! (Full disclosure, I bought a 2024 SK 10-12, and after reading various threads, realized I should've bought SO to begin with.)

Who makes the best flare nut wrenches?

I used the Irwin 4LW "Locking Wrench"; "true" vise grips woulda been my absolute last resort, and even then I would prolly wanna slip some rubber over the grooves to minimize marring.

Who makes the best flare nut wrenches?

(Update...Irwin for the win! That fitting was ON there, not sure it was ever gonna come off by "conventional" means...also, I'm late to the party and just found out about SK's "questionable" new origins, so it will be SO from here-on-out!)

SK vs Snap-On flare nuts wrenches

(thanks for the response, Ryan, did not know that about SK not being what it used to...and will start a new thread in the future! also, i've been "burned" in the past using heat, so that's my absolute last resort, plus the area i'm working in is confined and cluttered!...and thanks for the tip...

SK vs Snap-On flare nuts wrenches

Yep, that is my next-to-last resort! I haven't been the best at bending/flaring new lines in the past, but now may be a good time to learn to do it the right way!

Who makes the best flare nut wrenches?

Considered those, but trying to not "mar" the fitting any more than I already have, if possible. (Also trying to stay away from heat because there's alot of plastic and wiring in the area...worst case, i'll cut the line, remove the fitting and gulp, fabricate a new one!)

Who makes the best flare nut wrenches?

I was hoping that would work, but nope, 3/8" was too small! I did semi-measure the fitting, it's approx 10.13mm~10.19mm...then measured the SK wrench, approx 10.21mm...none of that is too scientific, but ball-park.

Who makes the best flare nut wrenches?

(I've posted this elsewhere, promise this'll be the last one!) Clutch m/c fitting: SK 10mm flare, nope Duralast 10mm open, nope Duralast 4" crescent, nope Irwin 4LW, waiting on delivery

    SK Flare Nut Wrenches

Recently bought an SK over an SO, so far the SK hasn't worked, but neither did an open end and a TIGHT 4" Crescent, so I doubt the SO would either. Gonna try the Irwin 4LW when it arrives. (Also plan on measuring the nut to see what the baseline was.)

SK vs Snap-On flare nuts wrenches

I'll add my current situation for good, ahem, measure. Trying to remove the clutch line from the master cylinder on a '94 Pathfinder. Felt leery about spending $60 on the SO 10/12mm flare nut wrench, so bought the $25 SK 10/12mm flare nut wrench. Wire brushed the threads, PB Blaster, rinse and...

    Seal Pullers

(Front Hub Bearing Seal) Saw a youtuber hammer on the bearing to force the seal out, neat trick, but thought I'd modify it somewhat... I couldn't get the "t-puller" to grab on enough of the lip of the seal to pry it out... So I used the t-puller to pry up on the bearing itself (which I was...
