Dammit! Take my money I guess. Now I have to rearrange the metric wrench drawer *again* :D

    Air Compressor repair

I like the idea of running the pump you have if at all possible, but that said, I just re-pumped my compressor with the current 2-stage pump from HF and it works surprisingly well.

Unpopular opinion - mayhew prybars are just ok

Also of note; My prybar of choice is Wilde, and I have ranging sizes according to the amount of "hrrrrrrrgh" that must be applied.

Unpopular opinion - mayhew prybars are just ok

I have zero dogs in this hunt, but do wish to share a tidbit from an often missed mentor of mine. The first PE I worked under was fond of saying "If it bends it won't break." whenever I would question why he wanted me to calculate or draw something a certain way, which would allow for a...

    Everybody's got some Snap-On...

No photos... Line wrench/open end wrench combo set that I bought one piece at a time from the bay. A set of green padded chisels and punches and a weird "headlamp" that wraps around your neck that were Christmas gifts, and a single 1/4" drive ratchet that is wore slap out. The only necessary...

Wrong fuel put in rental machine?

We have pieces of equipment that if broken or idle can cost us lost revenue of 10x that number per day. Easily. Construction is expensive.

    Costco Feit shop lights

I just used two of them to update the terribly outdated "but I still like this" kitchen fluorescent fixture at my mom's house. It has a box and diffuser, so I ripped out the guts and hung two of these inside, them put it all back together. She loves the LED light output, and her 1980's...

    Mr Cool DIY heat pump?

I have. Skip Mr Cool and buy something better. They will not communicate about warranty, will stonewall, and will ultimately leave you hanging. Buy a Senville and the tools to install it. I am much, much happier with that decision.

3 DIY Mr Cool mini split failures

It was far easier to throw the Mr. COOL away and self-install a Senville unit, than it was to argue and wait and argue and wait for those jackwagons at Mr. COOL to warranty my 2yr old unit. They never did follow through after the compressor took a very loud dump on mine. It did not leak, it just...

Flex head torque wrenches...I don't get it.

And to stay on context, I prefer non-flex torque wrenches, but have zero issues with flex ratchets. No reason really... just what I am used to. If someone were to offer me a nice new flex version, I would gladly accept!

Flex head torque wrenches...I don't get it.

This is Garage Journal. Buying tools we don't need because of "bargain" is a requisite of membership, best I can tell?

DORMAN 132 piece SAE grade 8 hardware kit $4.80

Wal Mart Refunded me $0.87... LOL! I guess they heard me talking smack about them.

DORMAN 132 piece SAE grade 8 hardware kit $4.80

If the folks at Wal Mart understood the man code, they could have kept the nickel and left your wife out of it. ;)

I'll never buy a tool box with a credit card ever again.

Today I learned in this thread that if I want to strip old paint off a tool box all I need is two competing tom cats. Thanks OP! :D

How to Fix a broken HF Tool

I know Astro and HF are often the same/similar. I own a lot of Astro stuff, and a bit of HF stuff, mostly because Astro is much cooler to their customers when something goes sideways. It's a personal thing from my experience. I also like supporting Astro because they really try to bring some...

PSA, HF Tools is closing out the Bauer SCT...

With apologies... I didn't take any. I had my head down all day Saturday just knocking out little projects. This was one of them. Basically, cut it in two and weld it back together with the guard hard against the tool body and clearance around a large drum. I eyeballed it.
