What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Primed the torque converter with a couple quarts of Maxlife Synthetic. Stinky! Also bolted on the bell housing, connected and adjusted the Neutral Safety switch, and connected and laid out the breathers and sensor connections/harness.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Straightened up some, taking care of some craft show remnants for the Missus. Didn't actually get to work on the transmission prep, but made arrangements for help installing it for Saturday, so I'm committed, weather permitting. What a relief that will be! Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk

Amazon "too good to be true" orders...how did they end up for you?

Re: Amazon "too good to be true" orders...how did they end up for you? In a semi-related, but relevant note for those interested in this thread... I've done OK ordering used/good or used/excellent parts for cars on Amazon, especially for big planned jobs like new shocks & struts...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

File cabinets are one of those purchases of opportunity. Useful but expensive when needed, a burden when not needed. I love waiting to hit the "someone else's burden" sweet spot. I keep waiting for replacement for some I had and gave away... 4 x high lateral, open shelf with full extension...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? Replaced my transmission breathers, along with doing some touch-up on my drive shafts and replacing the transmission fill tube O-ring. Little things in my punch list to put the transmission back in the truck and test the rebuild. Last pic...

OK thanks, never considered that. It's at least worth evaluating if the outer layer will survive the attempt, would prefer the original material anyway. Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? Really. Hmm. Gluing in place or disassemble? How do you keep from gluing your clamps or cauls to the plywood? Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? That's very cool you found someone in the trade to use the tools. Mine is in rough shape, water damage to the top and inset panels, a road side find. It's just so cool and the frame is solid, I've used it for nearly 10 years (moved...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? Unpacked these arrivals (ATF and my rebuilt OEM torque converter) and cleaned up craft sale prep to get back to transmission install prep. Edit: This Maxlife full synthetic is about $25/gallon at parts stores, but Walmart sent 4 gallons for...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Took a break from fixing things in order to design and make something. Not that I'm the first to make a pendant lamp out of license plates, but it was fun figuring out how to make the frame out of salvaged plywood. Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Still getting ready for the craft sale, but paused to finally do some overdue chain maintenance on the daily driver. New thing for me, as my old bike has a shaft drive. Measured chain wear/stretch, and it was well within service limits. Measured and took out 20mm of excess chain slack, then...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Busy day, whole family in the shop prepping signs, gifts, fire kits and other stuff for a sale next week. Most popular fire kit style is the 'post-apocalyptic' where I purposely rust and weather the tin with sandpaper, hydrogen peroxide, and salt. That's what's going on in that picture. Happy...

    Garage Calendar?

I've been wanting to try a personal Kanban board with post-it notes. Two main rules... 1.) Visualize all your work 2.) Limit your WIP (Work In Progress) This guy explains it pretty well. I get stressed because I'm trying to do a lot, and while I can keep my own priorities straight of...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Taking inventory on fire kit pieces for a local craft/handmade sale coming up. It's a bushcraft/edc kit of my own design to get a fire going. Couple types of kindling, couple ways to make a flame, a cutter, a wee flashlight. I customize the tins in regular and zombie apocalypse flavors. Time...
