    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Roxi, at the tail end of a four mile stroll on Lord Hill. Fortunately we finished early while it was still somewhat cool. Today we hit almost 90 degrees here in Snohomish, WA.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Getting older and needing another gear... A bicycle project that I've put off for awhile. My bike has a 53/39 chainset on it, and I I haven't done a great job keeping up with my fitness. I was gifted this black 50/34 crankset last year, but it came with an Italian threaded bottom bracket. I...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Built a rack for artwork. My daughter's birthday is this week, and she mentioned awhile back that she wanted to buy a rack to store her paintings. I thought I could make something for relatively cheap that would suit her needs. Anyhow, a learning process for me being a novice woodworker. I...

Pex crimp tool for small spaces....?

If you have access to the older style Wirsbo fittings/rings/tool, you can expand the pex before fitting it in the confined space. Just my own experience and opinion.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Serviced my mom's car. Oil change, checked fluids and brakes, and cleaned battery terminals. Her mustang is in good shape for being seventeen years old. I washed, vacuumed, and started polishing it. As I was cleaning, I noticed a few bumps and bruises around it that weren't there a couple of...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

There was quite a bit of play in the PS control valve with the engine not running. With it running it felt pretty solid in my hand.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Trying to find the source of slop in the Cougars steering. The ball joints, idler arm, steering linkage all seemed pretty tight/solid. I end up pumping a fair amount of grease int the steering box and doing about a 1/8 of a turn adjustment on it. That got rid of almost half the play, so I'll...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Nothing substantial today, but a small project to help Mrs M. She has always washed and reused ziplock bags. In an effort to keep them off the dish rack, I drilled some holes and cut some dowels that I had. A few minutes in the garage, and here's a simple drying apparatus for her plastic bags.

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Never Ending Retirement Garage/Shop Projects

I vote Blackwall. Either looks great, but BW gives it a more 'business' look, and brings focus more to the car itself(in my opinion). Are the wheels painted gold? FWIW, I've really enjoyed reading through your thread here. A great collection of cars and a beautiful home. Thanks for sharing.

Roxi attended my sons cross country meet with me yesterday. She was more interested in the critters than the kids running.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced front brakes on my truck. Biggest issue was finding somewhere to press in wheel studs after replacing rotors. A hydraulic press is on my wish list now..

    2023 Garage Sale Thread

I picked this up at a moving sale recently. The seller lost the table and mounting hardware, so I ended up contacting Grizzly and spending more for those parts than the whole sander. Grizzly disc/belt sander - $100 Table and mounting hardware - $125 Not a steal, but a good deal to me, and only...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

The car had been parked and not started since sometime before covid. When I got it started the other day, it would barely idle after warm up, and there was a pretty big hesitation/stumble when hitting throttle off of idle. Here's what worked: I adjusted the floats so there was only a little...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Thanks for sharing those links, Mike65! I will watch them over the next few days. I bought a used welder a few years ago for this project, but have been a little gunshy about pulling the trigger on it... The car is a 67 Cougar that belonged to my dad.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I learned a bit about Holley carburetors this afternoon, watching YouTube. I was able to cure some stumbling with some accelerator pump adjustments and moving the position of the little plastic cam, along with a float adjustment. Surprised to have a significantly better running 289. On to find...
