I myself would try WD-40. I use it to remove the paper backing on pieces of Plexiglass when the paper does not come off completley.

I try to find an alternate product when I notice that smell on something. That's not easy with some products. I've notice it in other plastic items besides rubber too. Why is that smell there, because China uses other chemicals that are not used in USA? Unhealthy like lead in paint? Just been...

Just an update on my 'chalking' cases. I sprayed the single case, shown in the first picture in post #616, with silicone, and let it sit for a hour or so. I then blew it off with compressed air and wiped it dry. It looks fine now :thumbup:

Ishiboo, I received mine on Friday. I received the 13 piece set also, just like I ordered. Can you tell me how your 'cases' look? My tools are perfect, nice and shiny, but all 3 of the cases are grey! They are 'chalking' so bad that wherever you touch or grab them, it smears. The latches are...
