I bought a modern scan tool. I wasn't eager to, not at all, but the missus has brought two modern cars into my life that are giving TPMS headaches, so here is the Autel TPMS tool. $220.30 from Amazon before tax. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VZYFYKG?tag=atomicindus08-20 Fiddled with it...

    Underground Lair of the Squankum

I thought I'd brought this up before here or elsewhere on GJ, but maybe not. Can openers. I was thrilled a couple of years ago to find that the sturdy, better-than-the-usual-cheap-**** can openers of the early 80's were still in production, and in the USA! Bought one in November of 2021. Life...

Sacrilege! Yeah, I thought about it at first and meant to measure and shop online and then I just forgot and did my usual thing. I do have one section of wall that could totally use one of those, though.

Oh yeah, Jarritos brand soda, coming in many colorful, fruity flavors, found not just in Mexican markets but Wal-Mart, some hardware stores, convenience stores. Made in Mexico, glass bottle, and I'm assuming cane sugar. And I just want to say again that a Knipex Cobra removes bottle caps just...

    1. It's been decades since I've been there, but Mexico hung on to bottle return/wash/reuse for soda bottles long after the U.S. did. The bottles wound up looking a little worn and you'll never convince the OCD crowd they won't get cooties. I have no idea if there's a higher bottle failure...

Yes. If you keep an eye peeled, you might find Coca Cola or Fanta in glass bottles -- made in Mexico with cane sugar. Good stuff! EDIT: Just yesterday afternoon I did have such a Mexican-made Fanta in a tall glass bottle.

    Underground Lair of the Squankum

Another mystery. As shown in the first pic of the previous post, the left end of the top shelf sits on top of a 2x4 stud up front, and a cleat on the side of that stud and to a rear stud. But on the right end of that shelf? Uhhh... I would call that little lip 1/8", if not 3/32". I...
