Thanks! Yep, definitely always preferable to come home without damaging the car, regardless of results. Otherwise it can be a very expensive plastic trophy! Yeh definitely! It's an awe inspiring circuit. That's what it's for! ---------- A couple of pics have surfaced: Reckon I might buy...

Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Rudi's Datsun resto and late nights shed in Australia.

Hey Rudi, coming along well! I can't justify paying paint costs either... And your comment on car prices is exactly why I have the Corvette, which cost me all of $15k AU. You can't buy any Aussie '70s car for that!

    A Shed Downunder.

Hey 1/2, glad to read things are going well. Great work on the saw! Bummer about the track day, but hopefully you'll get the opportunity again soon!

Wow, nice shed, and you have an NSX!! Awesome...

    Our 6.6mx9.3m (~22'x31') attached garage/workshop in Australia

Yeh, that's it! It really reinforced the difference between running hillclimbs and running a session of continuous hot laps a on a full circuit. The standard brakes on the Vette are pretty impressive - 4 pot calipers and vented 12" rotors front and rear - and I'd never even had a need to upgrade...

    Our 6.6mx9.3m (~22'x31') attached garage/workshop in Australia

Meanwhile, in between painting the Midget, I did some odd jobs on the Vette. I had wanted to get some cold air to the engine, and some measurements showed that the cold air tray for a vb-vk Commodore (ala HDT) might be a close fit. First trial dummy fit: Measuring height between tray and...

    Our 6.6mx9.3m (~22'x31') attached garage/workshop in Australia

Over the Christmas/New year break and during January I got the Midget rubbed back and touched up the jams, interior etc ready to lay colour on the outside. I also had to do some welding repairs to the bonnet and a door when some metal issues under existing paint reared their heads.: And in...

    Our 6.6mx9.3m (~22'x31') attached garage/workshop in Australia

Well thanks! And thanks for kicking me into gear too, seeing as I’ve been super slack about updates recently. Thanks! Had the factory front wheel on as the other wheel was being repaired. Thanks Dwight! That helps, it’s on my to-do list... ------------------------- Ok, so where were...

Thanks Dwight! I reckon those L82 badges will look really nice on the bonnet (hood) now... Just have to summon the nerve to drill some holes!

    Our 6.6mx9.3m (~22'x31') attached garage/workshop in Australia

Thanks guys, I'm very happy! I paid a little extra to get the rest of the car painted as well, and while it's not a perfect show winning paint job (and I didn't pay for, ask for, or expect one), it's a massive massive massive improvement over what it was. As I'd said here before, the car could...

Looking good! Great scores with the signs and cabinets.

    A Shed Downunder.

Glad you're feeling reasonably alright, all things considered! The F isn't too bad wiring wise - Jenna's BMW is far worse. But either are a lot more complicated than my Midget (or I presume your old minis), its entire loom consists of about a dozen wires and just 2 fuses! I assume it's not even...

    Our 6.6mx9.3m (~22'x31') attached garage/workshop in Australia

Thanks 1/2 Cup, good to hear from you! The Midget is getting there slowly, was just frustrating to have it sit for over a month without progress. Maybe I guess! Work has been mad (>55 hour weeks seem to be the new norm) and it's end of semester at uni, so assignments and exams also. Then I had...

Hewey, house is looking great! Nice work so far sorting out the odds and ends. ****** about the flooding garage, but hopefully won't be too difficult to put in a drain to fix it.
