They make some great tools and boxes. I understand they have a limited selection of tools and specialty tools, but for the basics of SAE/metric 1/4" 3/8" 1/2" sockets and wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, tool storage etc. they will be fine.

I don't think that's entirely true. I have Snap On and Icon tools. Everywhere I've been there's a pecking order of such. How good is the technician. I usually out troubleshoot and outwork most where I've been and have the least amount of comebacks. So nobody is walking up to me and tool shaming...

Skip those and get ICON from Harbor Freight. Good quality, easy to buy, easy to warranty, made in Taiwan.

Years ago I missed out on a CAT Snap On box at the local CAT dealer in Mesa, AZ. It was the KRL Master series not the cheap stuff they have now. Correct CAT yellow and the usual CAT serial numbers not Snap On's. Whenever I'd ask the Snap On truck guys about them, they'd have a puzzled look on...

Like others have already stated, if you have the money I'd buy Snap On, Matco, MAC. The caveat being their respective top of the line series. Like Snap On's Master or Epiq, not the lower end stuff AND buy them used. Great deals to be had if done this way. Otherwise I think HF ICON boxes are...

I agree but stuff happens especially with the little ones and you're in a hurry.

Like others have already stated, Mayhew makes nice made in the usa sets for very little money especially if found used. Also inexpensive to replace individual ones if lost or broken. Have used them for years with good results when used as intended.
