Recommend a Pole Building company in Minnesota

I am in Oak Grove so just a bit west of you. RAM Buildings put up my 50x120 pole building 3-4 years ago. They did a very nice job at a reasonable price. Mine was built over the winter and they had lower winter-build prices. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Atlas 2 Post Lift

Another recommendation for extra wide / extra tall if you can fit it in. I also installed mine solo, but used a bobcat to stand up the posts. Once they were vertical it was easy to shimmy them around to their final locations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2 post Thinking of buying a lift?

I was looking hard at Bendpak, but found the Atlas 10OHX symmetrical 2-post for $2,400 (when picked up from Greg Smith Equipment). It is extra wide so easier to get in and out of the vehicle, and tall enough for me to stand underneath. Picks up everything. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Pole barn posts

The builder of my pole building used laminated posts, but finger-joints at the interface of the treated and untreated sections. I think that it is a better approach. 14’ side walls here as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

Finally checked this off of my to-do list. Added a dense black layer of carpet runner on top of the service cart as a part work surface, and mounted a small vice. Should come in handy! Before: Runner attached: Closeup: With vice: Top still opens well: Sent from my iPhone using...

Quesiton about framing a room in my pole barn

I built a similar room inside of my pole building, an insulated kennel room with storage above. I chose to start by lining the outer wall with foil-backed foam board, then framed interior walls flush with the inside of the main building posts. I-joists formed the structure of the kennel...

Is there a "definitive" two post lift thread?

I have been extremely happy with my Atlas OH-10X 10,000lb 2-post lift, $2250 picked up from their warehouse. Some more details here.

    Inexpensive plate compactor?

I used the HF plate compactor on a class 5 base for my pole building, it worked great. Modest lifts plus a bit of water and that base seemed almost as dense as the concrete that was placed on top of it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cut up t-shirts or purchased “wiping cloths” work fine. I don’t thin the varnish at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I've gone nearly exclusively to wiping on varnish instead of brushing it on, it has helped reduce drips and runs quite a bit. Seems easier to control the amount of material being applied. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Tin roof leak

I had a leak in my pole building metal roof recently, too. Found an unexpected perforation in one of the steel panels up there. Then I found the cause, lying on the floor inside, directly under the hole in the roof... Not very neighborly, whoever fired that particular shot!

    Symmetrical 2-post lift question

I was similarly concerned with the inside post space when I was shipping for my lift. I went with an Atlas OH-10X 10k symetrical which has additional width as well as an extra height (I am also 6'2"). Even with regular 2-stage arms, it's been able to pick up everything that I've thrown at it...

Tore into my FIL's riding lawnmower engine, hoping to bring it back to him running before the New Year. The governor shouldn't be in that many pieces!

    Brake bleeding

I am intrigued by the "speed bleeder" replacement bleeder valves with built-in check valves... has anyone used these and any comments on how well they did or didn't work? Seems that they could be another great potential method for one-man brake bleeding...

    Shop/Garage/Pole Building budget???

One option to help with natural inside light is to specify "eavelite" polycarbonate at the top of the walls. I have 24" on my pole building and during the day it is amazing how much light the sun provides into the building.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I guess that I shouldn't be surprised, but synchronizing the carbs on this bike has made it run like a totally different motorcycle, definitely better than it ever has run for me up to now. No longer cold blooded, noticeably more responsiveness and pep. Wish that I had done it long ago!
