Those blades came out of another brand. Western Forge and Pratt-Read both cross-ground their flat blade tips. The code on the handles is H for Danaher, whose screwdrivers were made by WF & PR. The handles came from the stubby nut drivers, sold from 1997 to about 2000.

Pratt-Read used Zinc plating on their own production, so that's probably zinc corrosion. WF used chrome and then a "cobalt coating" starting in '98.

When I did my article of Craftsman screwdrivers, I found that BF was the code for Fuller Tools. It's mostly associated with Japanese made Craftsman wrenches made by KTC, and imported by Fuller (KTC also made Fuller's line), which is why most people assume BF was a code for Japanese manufacturer...

They are the last variant of the Workmaster/ Professional style. It's possible that they used nickel instead of chrome.

Nice boxes. The screwdriver is from 1950-54, made by Parker Mfg. The Phillips license number on the blade will tell who made the blade.

Crescent made Pliers for Craftsman prior to (and overlapping with) Western Forge. From c.1960-70.
