I can't remember, it was a few months ago. I probably did.

To clarify: the 2050 chain skips a tooth on the 50-pitch sprocket, so the odd tooth count only ensures that that particular sprocket receives wear between every tooth, rather than having a 12 tooth sprocket with the same six wear points on every revolution. You can see in the photo of the old...

I bought this old Kewanee elevator so we could use a Bobcat to load our spent agricultural waste* into semi trailers. I think it's about 75 years old, and it was filled with brittle cast iron drive sprockets, which were attached to rusty shafts with roll pins. I ended up making a couple new...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Installed a new coil in my girlfriend's Jetta to solve a misfire, then took it for a drive and discovered her front wheel bearings were both completely hashed, so I replaced both of those and swapped her winter tires for the all-seasons. Put the vibro pen engraver to work on the coil: And...

Should've used AN bolts. I didn't know enough about aviation at the time.

It's completely pointless because they have nuts on the back side. Just a functional art project I haven't shared here yet. :bounce:

Do those ones have a swivel lock? I found these urethane casters on eBay a while ago. The pedal not only locks the wheel brake, but it engages a cogged ring with a locking plate, preventing rotation so the table can't squirm around much at all. I tried to take some photos but they ****:

    Low speed drill press

Even using the wrong spindle speed, I bet OP has managed to get those holes drilled by now.

The windowed model looks awesome when it's empty, but probably decidedly less awesome once I hoard it full of dirty used ball valves and a tangled rats nest of split loom tubing. It's just a showcase of sadness then.

I've followed a few cool tags on Instagram for inspiration (although the platform has been completely destroyed by Reels): #dieselpunk #artdeco #machineage #streamline etc

Is that art by Alejandro Burdisio? Love his stuff. Alvaro Naddeo has been an inspiration, too.

Got a lot more projects... here's a cage for my R1200GS made out of leftover material. There's some mild and some stainless in there, differing wall thicknesses, possibly some 4130, etc. I was pulling my hair out trying to make it perfectly symmetrical, just couldn't figure out why I had this...

Been messing with these lights this week, I think they're intended to be portable flood lights for first responders. I drew the face and backplate of these junction boxes in CAD and had them plasma cut, then sheared, punched, brake-bent, slip-rolled, and welded the edge bands in place. I made...

TIG welding of Steel is Stupid

Yeah, especially if he has no experience TIG welding and he's trying to use a thumb control or balance a pedal on a ladder. I foresee a dramatic rage-quit event.

People always walk into the shop and remark how huge it is, and I point out that it's one of the smallest radial drills they ever made, tabletop units notwithstanding.

Thanks. The cost of materials pales in comparison to the time invested.
