I got one that looked exactly like yours except it was an 80. It was NOS and still in an unmarked cardboard box. I stripped it down to check for any bondo hiding a casting mark and there was none. It is definitely a York.

The date stamp on that one is 1-52. The one in the middle row far left is 6-15-64. The rest are not stamped. The one in the front row with the raised anvil is probably the oldest. It is marked on one side PAT PDG.

I have done this a couple times. I used a diamond hole saw with diamond pilot. No problems whatsoever. I just went slow and used water for cooling and lubricant.

Check the handle. On the side opposite where you see a ball bearing there should be a hole for another ball bearing (3/32"). It may have fallen inside the tube or the handle or it may have fallen out completely. You need to install another ball bearing and it should work correctly. I use a...

Fein ASTE638 or Mafell P1CC. Both are very smooth and powerful. Good for metal or wood. I have both and have been very satisfied with their capabilities.
