    12'x16' Deck build

Also, checkout Lowe's Deck Designer web software if you want to mess around with designs and see something visually. Trex is one of the brands in their system so you can choose from all of the colors. You have to register for an account but it's free. Only thing is - it's going away on June 30th...

    12'x16' Deck build

Here is the Trex install guide - https://documents.trex.com/is/content/Trex/full-trex-installation-guide-2019pdf.pdf Lots of info and detail in there. You'll have to read it to confirm but as far as I know, joists should be 16" OC when decking is perpendicular to joists and 12" OC when decking...

    2020 Lowe's deals/sales/clearance thread

I'm not a math expert but to answer your question, yes. Think about it this way - if something is 90% off then you are only paying 10%. What's 10% of any decimal number? Just move the decimal to the left one number. $28.99 becomes $2.89 and $299.98 becomes $29.99

    Wells

I had bacteria in my well too. Even after the previous owners "shocked" it, bacteria came back. It's common. So I installed a UV filter. Change bulbs one per year, about $100. Did this about 7 years ago. Everyone in house uses and drinks water daily. No issues.

    Bushing for bench grinder

I also used washers and haven't had a single issue. I wouldn't worry about trying to source or make a bushing.

Subpanel the same brand/line as existing main?

I was in the same situation a few years back. My main 200a 42-space CH panel (CH42B200K) was full and I needed more space. I added a matching 125a 25-space CH sub panel (CH24L125C) in the next stud bay and used a 90a breaker to feed it.

    Quick Question on a Sub-Panel

I'm about to build a 12x20 addition and will be pulling 3 home runs from my panel... (1) 12-2 for outlets (1) 14-2 for lighting (1) 12-2 for mini-split

    Sears torque wrench

Rarely use it? Home hobby use? I'd let it go. That's less than 10% difference. But if you want to tinker, calibrate it yourself. Here are two options. I did both. https://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/sockets-ratchets/torque-wrenches/12-in-drive-digital-torque-adapter-63917.html

    Garage Journal Deserves Better

Please, PLEASE don't convert to XenForo. I would gladly pay a membership fee to stay on vBulletin rather than switching to XenForo. I'm 100% serious. I regularly visit (4) forums and (3) of them have converted from vBulletin to XenForo. At first, I hated it. HATED IT. It's tolerable now but I...

    Lawn Mower Blade Sharpener

https://www.allamericansharpener.com/ I never saw such a tool before. It appeared as an ad on a website. Looks legit and I'd like to know if anyone has one or has used something similar? I'm a sucker for private, independent tool makers. Depending on how many blades you have, the ROI can be...

    Air compressor repair question

I use teflon tape, wrapped 2-3 times in the direction of the threads. My current couplers and plugs are made by Stedlin. I like them ALOT. Quiet and easy to use. No leaks. Also very easy to insert under pressure. I previously used Dixon (European) high flow couplers/plugs. One coupler failed...
