What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Tried to see what I could do with a bit of work on the 20 year old paint on the GT. It's nasty outside and I only get snatches of time, so I'm doing it in sections in the shop. Got the front end, minus the repainted bumper cover, done today. - Clean each panel down with Sprayway glass...

Found A Deal On Facebook Marketplace? Post It Here

My neighbor and I found one for FREE in a town about an hour from here. It was literally still sitting in a former bank. We spent 30 minutes at least trying to convince ourselves one of us needed it - and it was worth hooking up the trailer and going to get it. Luckily it was gone quickly.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT The Garage / Shop / House Thread - Motivation

Thanks and yeah they did sharpen the look of the car up. Also much better at night - I had already replaced / upgraded the bulbs. But now it looks good enough I decided to break the buffer out and see what the original paint might look like cleaned up a bit. Damn that rabbit hole. Ordered a...

Finally got some new headlights for the '04. I had a used pair I was refurbishing. Wet sand / rinse / wet sand etc etc then 2k clear coat. Of course I just randomly chose one of the pair of headlights I'd gotten used (got them cheap - so no big deal). That headlight came out great So I went...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

RockAuto for the win. Got tired of chasing down used OEM headlights to refurbish. Ordered a set of Depo CAPA replacements, couple days later they show up. Got 'em mounted and gave the Mustang a quick wash. Not bad for a 20 year old daily driver

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

So I was able to fix the damaged replacement headlight I had acquired. So I cleaned, wet sanded (rinse, repeat) then hit it with some of the Spraymax clear made for headlights. Came out pretty damn good So then I start on the second light. As I'm cleaning it up - I notice something I didn't...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Last night I got a few minutes to go out in the shop. Cleaned up / organized my paint / prep cabinet and was going to work on the replacement headlights I have for my '04 Mustang GT. When I bought my car it had one OEM Ford headlight and one aftermarket replacement (that is likely 10+ years...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Don't get me wrong - I love the LSx engines. My wife's daily is '13 Camaro SS Ragtop. LOL. I didn't start with that suggestion - even though $ for $ it's probably the best swap out there - people tend to get a bit 'defensive' about LSx swapping non GM stuff LOL. They are different engines for...

I'm not defending all forum / group moderator actions - but unless they started getting payed to do it - he doesn't want that. I helped with a pretty busy forum back in the day. George Carlin summed it up better than I could "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Take a serious look at Coyote swap before dipping into the Forced induction ocean. If you can turn wrenches, and read a wiring diagram, these swaps aren't crazy hard. Time consuming and annoying sure....but the Coyote is an underrated engine for people who haven't driven / lived with one. My...

Don't get discouraged. There are only a few forums left, it seems to me at least, where people actually shared useful info in DETAIL anymore. When car forums first took off - early 2000s maybe? I thought it was GREAT. You had a place to exchange tips / tricks with other gearheads -why reinvent...

COYOTE SWAP. https://fordauthority.com/2017/03/perfect-match-1965-ford-falcon-powered-by-a-coyote-v8/ I'm really good at spending other people's time and money LOL I daily drove / hit the strip in a '19 Mustang GT / 6speed I bought new....the Coyote engine is something else. It's almost video...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Different stroke for different folks. The orange / black is not my thing. I actually bought this car because it's an original Competition Orange GT ('04 was the only year for the Comp Orange in this body style). The original paint is 8/10 - I do need to repaint the spoiler when I get time - it's...

Issue with variance - damage to driveway from construction vehicles?

All depends on your state laws. Who actually OWNS the 'shared driveway' - in my state that matters. I live on a shared drive. All the people who chimed in with "screw that guy" - I bet you all are great neighbors. Is there an agreement on who maintains the 'shared drive'? That's the reason...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

The other day finally got the quickie repainted front bumper cover back on the '04 GT. It ain't perfect, but it's my daily - so it'll do. It's better than before: AFTER My OCD is kicking in. I'm fighting the urge to paint the hood - as it's faded from age as you can see.

Busy with work and everything else plus the time change - not a lot of daylight left after work to get color / clear on this front bumper cover. Finally got it done today after taking the day off to deal with DMV paperwork. There is some trash in the clear, that's the nature of the beast...
