Probably all made in China. If someone could find the patent holder on the clips it may lead to more info. The Harbor Freight rail is no knock-off. I assume they all come from the same extrusion plant.

I had socket rail epiphany a few months ago and realized a lot of companies including Koken use the same supplier. Check out your local harbor freight for the 18 inch version of the Koken rail. Amazon has red colored Ares branded in the same size as the longer Koken. All use the same rail...

Hey @merkyworks, that is color difference is weird. I have a bunch of Tsunoda pliers including those and none of them have different color handles. I have been following them on Amazon a little because I felt those 5” (CP-125) were too good to be true at only $10 in April this year. As you...

Received ip Gold ratchet today. Ordered it from DRPD. KTC TORQULE is becoming a great addition. Feels great on a NBR390. It is nice to see and feel what torque I am putting down with a regular ratchet in hand.

The Gadget Guys's Hazet Assistent 166N Germany vs Japan

I really like the look of those fixed 179 NW. That thing looks awesome in your collection. Speaking of other manufacturers that create similar carts. I recently discovered this KTC range. Dimensions are almost identical to the 166N. If anyone has any info on these please share.

The Gadget Guys's Hazet Assistent 166N Germany vs Japan

I do not think marketing plays a big role in why they costs so much. The casters alone are around $200. Do you really think they could charge a couple hundred more? The only thing comparable is the $500 Beta trolley and the Hazet is a better built all around. Truth is they were designed and...

The Gadget Guys's Hazet Assistent 166N Germany vs Japan

I attached a ram ball to a bookstand, creating a clean and convenient spot for repair manuals. Also pictured is the cell phone mount running KTCs app for the Torqule. I only realized after digging into my ram mount collection how deeply invested I was. I have been using them for years on...

The Gadget Guys's Hazet Assistent 166N Germany vs Japan

Thanks @Monte I hope others will use the idea and expand on it. I think a lot of Assistent owners search for Hazet accessories only to find the stuff they made has been long discontinued. Currently, Hazet only produces a window holder. Not very interesting or useful for anything other than...

The Gadget Guys's Hazet Assistent 166N Germany vs Japan

In making the vice mount I acquired some aluminum 14mm OD rod that fits nicely into the knob hole. https://www.gobilda.com/4101-series-aluminum-tube-for-lead-screw-square-nut-10mm-id-x-14mm-od-300mm-length/ I had some extra length and wanted to make another mount and had a genius idea. Ram...

I made a custom mount plate from .5" aluminum and 14mm OD rod for a Heuer compact vice. I think it matches the Assistent nicely.

I acquired a new gadget, the KTC Torqule. I purchased the 3/8 size after finding out it covers 2Nm- 80Nm. The specs claim 10Nm-80Nm but it starts reading at 0.2 and can be set as low as 2Nm. The 1/4 Torqule range is 2Nm-10 and the 1/2 size covers 20Nm-200Nm. Rain in the desert provided a...

@Qualitytools unfortunately I do not have a good source for those blow guns. They cost around $15 in Japan but shipping direct adds $20 to the cost.

@superautobacs I wish they made the flex tip in a smaller length. I really only work on bikes and found that type of flex tip to be a bit long and cumbersome. Mine has the 100mm length. Check out this needle size tip, I use it to slide on off handlebar grips. All 6 bikes are setup for...

What makes a blow gun special? Two reasons. First, it has a solid metal ring that I use to hang on the wall. My previous Flexzilla blow gun broke at that location. Second, the trusco has a linear trigger which allows you to lightly blow with a soft press of the trigger. I purchased another...

the Nepros brand hand tool thread

Here is an interesting size and weight comparison of Nepros and KTC 10mm deep sockets. Nepros socket is 7 grams lighter than KTC. I am a bit of a weight weenie and noticed right away Nepros sockets were also much lighter than the Wera set I was using before. These 1/4 extensions are the only...

The Gadget Guys's Hazet Assistent 166N Germany vs Japan

No worries, it is all in the last picture I posted. See the stainless steel container filled with lime green? Those are the nitrate gloves. The foam board does blend in well but Hazet 195-1 is visible in the photo.

Here is a look in the bottom tub. I keep heavier items like hammers and 1/2 drive sockets and ratchets One of my favorite hidden tricks is a magnet organizer made for pencils stuffed with rubber glove holding a Hazet foam knee board in place.

@M635_Guy The older ones definitely hold their value and some times it would cost as much to restore one than to buy new. It is nice that replacement parts are still available.

@WhoWhatNow I just noticed your Assistant has a little vise mounted! I like it and was thinking about doing that, can you provide more details on how you made the mounting plate?
