I did my whole shop in drywall. No regrets. Easy to fix if something happens to it. Usually drywall is badmouthed by folks that never learned to tape and finish .

The Masonite will hold up best.

I was in the cabinet business for a LOT of years. You can give me laminate any day. Easy, cheap, durable and nice looking. If you want to change it out you don't have to visit your banker.. You owe it to yourself to visit a home center to see all the new textures and patterns.

NUMBER 13 ... THE IGLOO This was a bit different in construction. I took a 12 inch playground ball and let some air out of it. Then I inserted it into a piece of plywood with a 12" hole cut in it. ( half the ball above, half below the plywood) Then I aired up the ball. Now I have half the ball...

I've got a couple of really offbeat ones comin' up! I tried not to spend over 4 hours building each one cause I've got other **** to do, so some of em look a bit hurried... but from 10 feet they're OK.

NUMBER 12 ... THE COVERED WAGON The wheels are a standard hobby shop item. I suppose you could make your own, but I'm not that *********. The roof is tin with the ribs raised on a bead roller. This one gets lots of positive comments, and looks more authentic with age.

True square tube does exist, It just isn't available at your local supplier. I've seen it on furniture often (usually chromed) I'd check and see if there are any manufacturers near you that use it. They may sell you a length or two.

Thank you for this thread, Strouty. I'm not a hoarder, but I have a few collections.. I have a close relative that is an awful hoarder. I just didn't get why she couldn't just toss **** out. You make me understand how painful that process is by posting your inside feelings about letting go...

NUMBER 11 ... THE MONITOR BARN The monitor barn birdhouse was built to mimic the barn/house. We used the same paint color and black metal roof to harken back to the main residence. It's constructed of 1/2 in plywood and is the largest of the houses.

NUMBER 10 ... THE LIGHTHOUSE This eight sided structure uses an old canning jar for a beacon. The sides are cut from Masonite siding, and the roof is formed from thin gauge metal. It was easier than it looks to construct.

NUMBER 9 ... LICENSE PLATE HOUSE This one was fun.. A couple hours with some old vehicle plates, a metal brake and a pop riveter. It went together much easier than I expected and it weathers beautifully.

I'm looking for a gate opener, and the Mighty Mule gets a LOT of bad reviews--- But there seems to be no options in a similar price range. Anybody have any ideas?

I roll mine up and put each one in a ziplock bag, then store them behind the truck seat.

NUMBER 6 ... THE CRAPPER A housing complex wouldn't be complete without a outhouse for the construction workers. This is the most basic of all my birdhouses. A simple four sided structure with a shed roof. I did tin the roof for longevity.
