Good point, as I’m sure it takes great care to keep them that way because of the reputation these cars have for rusting. It just looks like the two cars in the photo didn’t get any special treatment.

I can’t imagine the amount of rust on a New England based E9.

You don't really get a feel for how small the Elise is compared to other vehicles until you see them together. My E90 335i isn't exactly a large car, but compared to the Elise it is.

Yes, very much so. She had it done in her mid 60's and the problem didn't recur with any significance through the rest of her life (late 80's). Your before and after shots look very much like hers did.

My Mom had that same surgery on both feet, one at a time. It looks like I have hammer toes like hers,so it's in my future as well. Best of luck with your recovery.
