Am I screwed when it comes to building a garage?

How is it that the house be that close to the power lines or vise versa? From the picture, it looks like they go almost directly over the corner of the house.

54" sheetrock - hard to find

^^^This^^^ It's seems that it was done this way longer ago for the exact reason you stated. Just makes sense. In the slap it up as quick as possible, with the least amount of effort while maximizing profit world we live in, hanging vertically has become the norm.

    My mouse poison is gone!

Kinda like the pesticides and herbicides sprayed all over the food we eat isn't killing us either? And don't give me the washing before you eat it **** takes care of it.

Dangit. Mice droppings all over the garage

I use Tomcats with peanut butter. Had a couple mice in my basement a few years back. Caught both of them while I was setting up multiple traps, so I guess they worked well for me. Set them up against walls and in corners. Seems that's how they travel. Photo from the web.

    Design software

I designed my shop with Pro/E, now known as CREO. Overkill? Waaaaayyyy overkill. I've been using it for almost 30 years, so it was easy for me. Learning curve goes on forever. I'm still learning new things after all this time.

I wish people didn't refer to my workshop as a "Man Cave"

Whenever I hear "man cave," first thing that comes to mind is some dude (don't care much for that moniker either) with his hair in a bun and skinny jeans. Don't know why. Etched in my mind forever.

    Shweiss doors

There's quite a number of these doors around where I live. Maybe that they're made forty miles from where I live has something to do with it. Everyone that has one that I know personally has nothing but good to say about them. They seal quite well also. Much better than a typical overhead door.
