I hung my race-ramps (lite weight aluminum from BendPak) for my BP 4-post lift on the wall too.

If you go to the City Planning Department and explain what you seek to do and ask about a "variance" to allow you to place the garage where you want, they may be able to guide you in the process. Beware, this can be a frustrating experience.

I had the lite-weight race ramps on my BendPak 4-post. I always placed them onto the lift, put the car on or off the lift and removed the ramps and hung them on the wall. I never had a problem.

I bought a mini-split from Home Depot for my 3+ car garage during our garage remodel. We ran the lines inside the wall and had the compressor outside. It was a very clean install like one sees in a typical residential install. Worked great for heating and cooling. Quiet too.

The house will have all 2x6 framing; our main home is exposed rafters so we will see what happens when we build the ADU. I personally like the exposed rafters.

No way I would put that load on a new driveway. Everyone says their pour is 4" but if you have ever taken out a garage floor or driveway where someone said 4" you will find out it may be 4: in spots and 2.5" on others.

Personally, I think long tails look very nice. We are in the plan submittal process for a 1200 sq. ft. ADU and we are going with 36" rafter tails and storage trusses. Long tails look nice and creates a bit of a sun shade.

Don't give him a cent more and find another paver to resolve the problem.
