Man, these guys go to some crazy lengths in engineering to get these vane pumps dialed in, all new to me but really cool.

The viking pump system uses rods, I believe that would be an improvement over the springs. Maybe a project for a later date.

I cleaned out 3 little pieces of spring, but the spring is still visible at the attachment point. I’ve read that these pump an abundance of oil but with a single vane in place I can’t imagine it would still operate.
