4’ deepx20’ wide 10’ tall at the wall or so. 4/12 pitch. 4x4 uprights with a 2x6 roof is what I was thinking but I am going to amend this I believe. This was just figuring out a basic layout. I’m not proficient at solidworks.

I've been in a state of analysis paralysis for a day or two, I've been learning solidworks and trying a few different layouts. I say doghouse but it's going to be big, well big enough to stand in and work around the equipment. Also there needs to be a way to "trolley" out the motor or pump if I...

I've stepped back for a minute to order some replacement parts, and to focus on the electric and placement. I'm not an electrician but my thought is I would like to have a way to have my generator and compressor in a "doghouse" with a recepticle with a transfer switch that would allow me to...

The blowouts show that it only has 6 pins, with 3 valve bodies 2 of which has a set of 3. I can't understand the logic of having one without a disc, spring, or pins but I am going to keep cleaning and will reach out to some knowledgeable sources.

I have been working at it little by little, this has some parts missing I believe. One valve is empty, no spring, disk, or pins. They all seem to be in pretty decent shape other than the exterior of the high pressure valves being pitted pretty heavy on the caps, looks like the body was replaced...

    SquashCycle Bikes

I’ve been to some businesses with campuses that have community bikes like this, Google has a bunch of bikes. Ford plants can be a lot like micro cities, a lot of skilled trades use bikes to allow them to transport tools and themselves quickly and safely through the plants. Makes sense, less...

The vanes in the oil pump don’t look awful, but the fact that they changed the spring design and that it blows chunks of springs through the system makes me wonder about putting new springs in it. I would think they could be brazed or tacked in place, or go with a lightly stronger spring and...

I like that this is on a horizontal tank, otherwise I’d need to be on a ladder to do this. It’s not hard to get the valves out, in the YouTube video the guy smacks them with a hammer and digs them out with a screwdriver, I just used a magnet and they slid right out. I think the valves are both...

I appreciate the offer Pirate, so far all of these seem to work. My biggest concern is flaky rust in the housing, but I intend to get it as clean as can be.

The beauty of old machines is being fixable, so far everything about this machine makes me appreciate it more. I’m enjoying the process, and not in a huge rush. Just taking it little by little, when I start getting frustrated or in over my head I stop and come back here and search through the...

There's a lot of interchangeability between roc 14-16 from what I'm reading in the QR25 line. I have looked at Ebay and I've found a couple small shops with specific parts, I'd prefer to find local small shops before ebay but either way. I'm just stumbling through this, I have no idea what I'm...

I really appreciate the suggestion, thank you. I have been researching different materials, and anything Quincy is just absurdly priced $40 for a single little bolt but when you ask for insight on the compressor you get passed around the Country to several distributor's then no response. I am...

The more I learn about this compressor pump the more appreciative I am to have it. The LS designation was often supplied with a gas or diesel engine, also being able to be ran with a natural gas engine. One standout being the Kohler 18hp, but stating that you need the 19.5” sheave which is what...

This should probably just be replaced but I’m going to put it back together and see what happens with the line not pinched and see if it will hold. The clip won’t seat well because the deformation, but I cleaned it up a bit with a hacksaw blade.

rebuilding a quincy compressor oil pump

Thank you Machine, I appreciate the heads up. I have read that a lot of the 25 and 50 stuff is interchangeable and some of the 14/16 roc stuff. I wonder if there is a year with a screw on filter that would work.. I'm going to give mine a cleaning and send it, if it has to be replaced I guess...

Man, these guys go to some crazy lengths in engineering to get these vane pumps dialed in, all new to me but really cool.

The viking pump system uses rods, I believe that would be an improvement over the springs. Maybe a project for a later date.

I cleaned out 3 little pieces of spring, but the spring is still visible at the attachment point. I’ve read that these pump an abundance of oil but with a single vane in place I can’t imagine it would still operate.
