Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!

It looks pretty straight and it has got the tray. I would not have been able to get my $15 out fast enough!

Proto Tools Picture Thread - Post Yours!

Smokeshow69 recently alerted me of this nearly complete mfd era metric set that was for sale. It has no skips from 8-17mm and a Proto Professional 6mm. All the sockets seem to have seen very little use

I made a few additions to my library with these supplements that showed up today from an ebay seller. The price list is number 5006 and has a note on it saying “approx 10% increase. New price lists on the way in. Jon” I have always loved when there are little comments like that written in...

Post up your Powr-Kraft and other Wards tools

Wow those grips are cool! I have never seen that design before. You also just helped me sort of solve a mystery. I have had some battery pliers marked “whitaker” that I have not been able to find out anything about. I have some newer Wilde stuff but never thought to research the old stuff. The...

    Montgomery Ward speed master

Wardmastr is not actually a typo. That is how they spelled it. I posted a picture of this in the torque wrench thread but I guess it could belong here too

Nice! It looks like the same seller I got mine from that I posted a couple pages back but you got it a few bucks cheaper. It is interesting that it looks like the same exact thing but doesn’t have the orange alligator skin box.

Wow. That can’t be very common. I don’t think I have ever seen a p&c metric tool

All my searching was not in vain, however. During my search for the source of that picture, I discovered this program from 1967 where if you sold Hot Rod subscriptions you could earn points that could be redeemed for Proto tools. How cool is that?!

Proto Tools Picture Thread - Post Yours!

It actually wasn’t from Proto. It was on the cover of something put out by Hot Rod magazine. I just can’t remember what it was. I think it was some sort of technical manual or something. I can’t remember the year either. I spent about an hour researching today to try figure out what it with but...

Tool Aquisition - What's your favorite ways to find old tools?

Mostly garage sales for me. I will usually just look on craigslist for anything that lists tools or drive around parts of town that have been good to me in the past. My tool buying takes a sharp drop when the weather gets cold and the sales stop. There aren’t really ever any flea markets or...
