    Does Anybody Stick Weld Anymore?

Sounds like you could use some updating, but not by taking out O/A Welding and Stick. With those two "mastered" any wire feed and the gtaw process will be a breeze to move into. Without a heavy emphasis on O/A and Stick, the rest will take much more time, and many fundamental skills may be...

    Used Matco 72". Worth $1700?

Umm, naah. Lets do this right: It's an OLDER pro quality tool box. Period. Yes, pro quality and lesser quality boxes are available in deeper depths now. Does not change where this box ranks in the world. If one were to exist and you were given a choice between a brand new Matco ProFormance...

    Used Matco 72". Worth $1700?

    It's not a 4s, its a ProFormance Series. Already been established that it's pre-4s-5s-6s.

    Used Matco 72". Worth $1700?

Good solid old box. If the slides are good, it would be a great box, not at $1700 though. Maybe $1300-$1500.

    Northern Tool Homak Pro Series

Thats the old Homak cart. Thin and not that great.

    Northern Tool Homak Pro Series

RS Pro is supposedly above the H2Pro

    Northern Tool Homak Pro Series

Hoping they come out with a large tool cart in that RS Pro line. I think that would fill a void between what's out there now from homak, sunex etc, and the truck brands.

US General vs Tool Vault- any thoughts?

May have to try that out. I figured boxes with latches (no detents) would bounce back open easily, if the latch were to be removed.

US General vs Tool Vault- any thoughts?

I considered buying a HF box, and actually have a HF cart at work now. Deal breaker is/was the goofy latch system. Maybe for home, or light use it's ok. I regret having work buy me the HF cart. I'm in and out of it many times a day, the latches ****.

US General vs Tool Vault- any thoughts?

Keep shopping Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. In your price range you certainly can find a well used truck brand as well. In my area particularly, Matco and older Mac Tech 1000 seems to be next to worthless. A double bank 55-56" can be found for $800-1200 regularly. I bought mine (Matco) for...

    Wacker Compactor

Possible, but unlikely that everything lines up right for that 8hp briggs. Probably best to grab a $100 HF engine that will line up right, and have yourself a nice plate compactor for cheap.

    Grease gun info requested.

It's the grease, not the gun. Many brands and chemistries of grease will weep oil out of the gun. The only one I personally haven't had weep was from LE. Not an over the counter retail brand. The grease I use now from TRC does weep a little.

What Style Of Fast Lift Jack Is Best?

Only one I ever had was Brunnhoelzl. Was superb as long as you keep the weight within reason.

Dirt Bike Stands For The Shop

I've had one of them for over 20 years, from when I had motocross bikes. It's the original one that Dennis Kirk sold that was out in the late 80's-early 90's, not sure of the manufacturer. Handy as heck and would love a few more at a good price.

Help me choose a new socket set

I don't think any of the sets the OP mentioned are any better than USA Craftsman. Of the ones OP mentioned I'd probably go SK or GW. Also Napa Carlyle, as someone mentioned, is a decent socket if bought on sale.

    Best Manual Grease Gun

Just got two of the red Alemite pistol grip grease guns this Spring. Awesome grease guns. I also have an older Lincoln Power Luber and find that the Alemite couplers work better on that the Lincoln ones, or the crappy chinese Napa ones I'd been using.

    Hours on Mower

Or if you are looking at used commercial quality machines, I would find the ones with a unitized, all metal pump/motor/reservoir that are not a geared transaxle. Exception being the ZD or ZG Kubota models.
