Yes, I think that you are making this to hard on yourself. A box will only hold the tools as many others have said. If I would start all over again I would go with the KRSC 46 or similar. Snap-on Man will be back from convention, this is an easy box to get and it will hold everything you need...

With your discount the KRSC line should be had for under a grand, as long as you don't have the need for a constant work top they are great to work out of and should get you through school and first job . Check out the Thread on some of the mods that people have done to the KRSC
