The Shoestring Garage - my 20'x20' detached

That's a cool neighborhood with all of those live oaks lining the roads...would love to peek in some of the garages of those old houses in there. If I ever head up to Franks, I'll let you know. Always up for meeting new folks. Shoot me a message if you are headed to this area and wanna swing by.

The Shoestring Garage - my 20'x20' detached

Cool to see another local fella. I'm on Johns Island...just across the bridge from the Muni and a half mile or so , so not too deep into the boonies. (Although I wouldnt mind it if we were!) My wife just finished up at Charleston School of Law so she was downtown every day up until a couple...

The Shoestring Garage - my 20'x20' detached

Thanks Jim! You're correct, it injects fluid in a the bleeder and pushes the air up and out the master. I think this in combination with pumping the brakes and releasing air at the bleeder is an effective way to make sure all the air is out of the lines.

The Shoestring Garage - my 20'x20' detached

No real work done on the Shoestring lately, but I have been working in it. Pretty much redid the brakes on my 66 from the front to rear. New master cylinder, proportioning valve, brake lines and hoses, drop spindles up front with disc brakes, and new wheel cylinders in the rear. Made myself...

Which House & Garage to Buy?

without pics....#2 I would think a golf course community HOA would be tough. We have an HOA but are a small neighborhood in the rural part of town. Everyone is pretty chill and for the most part there aren't insane rules. Each HOA is different though and there are plenty of power drunk...

Urban Archeology: Garages and Workspaces in Virginia and the Carolinas

This is my grandma's store in Glenwood, NC that just closed the doors last year. Not a garage, but an old gas station from the 40's I believe. The metal building is obviously much newer, I think my grandpa added it 15 years ago or so. They bought it sometime in the early 90's. HATE to see it...

    Show your new tool arrivals

A friend got a new JET jointer given to him so he didnt have room for this old Craftsman he had laying around. I'm not much of a woodworker, so not sure what I'm gonna do with it, but I couldnt pass up a cool old piece of machinery for free!

Urban Archeology: Garages and Workspaces in Virginia and the Carolinas

Very cool thread. This is a restaurant in downtown Charleston that was a service station in the 50's. Its called Fuel now. Good food. There's another old brick garage on one of the side streets that I love. Will try to get a pic of it.

Awesome, thanks! My need for it is two-fold. I got water coming in sometimes AND the transition from my epoxy to unpainted concrete looks terrible:lol_hitti

    Knoxville Garage Renovation

That's a great transformation...floor turned out killer, cabinets look awesome, and the colors help out a lot. Any info on the trim strip for the floor? Looks nice and wide, which is what I'm looking for.

    Lets see your workbench

I just made a bench out of 2x4's I got from tearing down a neighbors shed, and this was the main problem with the build. The short pieces werent too bad, but when I went to use the longer ones for the top, they were all over the place. Ended up using ratchet straps to pull them together and...

The Shoestring Garage - my 20'x20' detached

Thanks Herb..if you were close I would definitely take you up on the free oak tounge and groove! Although the top right now would probably have to be redone if I wanted to put any kind of surface on it. A few of the boards were a little warped so there are some slight variations in the top. Its...
