First time working with AN for fuel - questions on push-lock fittings and others

Are these the same compression rings I would find at the hardware store for home plumbing work? Do they have inch ID trade sizes? Thanks

First time working with AN for fuel - questions on push-lock fittings and others

My fuel system also calls for some hard line to AN junctions, I got this Earls Compression fitting for that purpose. It's a nice part. I test fit it to understand how it works, I've not used fittings with no flares before. I presume that these are re-usable and I can cut the compression ring...

First time working with AN for fuel - questions on push-lock fittings and others

Thanks. I think my plan matches the suggestions here. When using push-lok fittings, use the corresponding hose (in my case: Red Horse for both). Then I can use the extra Red Horse hose with regular barbed fittings + oetiker. I'll likely use an oetiker on the push lock fittings as well...

First time working with AN for fuel - questions on push-lock fittings and others

Hi All I am working on a custom EFI build for my Porsche 912. I have not worked with AN before and plan to use push-lock fittings in the engine bay. I'll use regular barbed fittings at the fuel tank / pump for a few reasons, one being that the tank itself is suited to this. I few questions...

Fuel pressure test kit (not universal amazon eGlowFluxibee)

When I'm going chinese Harbor Freight is my preferred poison. Seems more straightforward than the absurd fake review shell game going on at Amazon

Fuel pressure test kit (not universal amazon eGlowFluxibee)

Thanks - good stuff used is absolutely something I do. I hear you on the one Chinese factory many names problem. Its clear that's most of what I'm looking at online. Too bad specialty tools like this aren't like ratchets and sockets where for a totally reasonable premium I can get a...

Fuel pressure test kit (not universal amazon eGlowFluxibee)

Thanks for the feedback. Does anyone know what the threading is on the commonly provided adapter? I am working on an old 911 and it does not have "typical" schraeder or domestic ports for testing. One example - https://www.summitracing.com/parts/otc-5630

Fuel pressure test kit (not universal amazon eGlowFluxibee)

I often find myself in this quandary. I'm happy to spend a few coins on good tools but don't really know where to look. Seems like everything out there is rebranded Chinese stuff ie, see below. Where do you all look when you want a specialty tool you can be proud of? I try to buy...

    Low tech spray area recommendations?

Hi all I'm posting for my dad who is looking for a way to use part of his attached garage as a finishing area without letting any fumes get into the house. He is not in the market for a "real" spray booth, we were thinking of partitioning off a small area, using a door with a good seal and a...

I am over changing this battery. I hard wired my thermostat and never looked back. Is such an arrangement common for exterior garage door keypads?

Looking for dust extractor / shroud for Metabo W8-115 angle grinder

I rented the HD tool when I originally epoxied the garage. UN HOLY dust cloud, not repeating it with a full shop. Metabo says the extraction hood GED125 should work, ordered one and will see!

Looking for dust extractor / shroud for Metabo W8-115 angle grinder

Thanks for the tip. Watched the video and can't tell if the tool-free design on my metabo will cause issues. I don't have another "normal" grinder handy to compare. Is 2" a standard dim for the shroud? https://diamabrush.com/product/dust-shrouds/

Looking for dust extractor / shroud for Metabo W8-115 angle grinder

Thanks - I think this must be it. Their model compatibility list is a little confusing, I'll have to call on Monday to confirm, unless someone here has used it with the W8-115 Quick...
