    Show your new tool arrivals

You're not kidding. I've started looking at new truck offerings at local dealerships and it appears I'll have to special order such a truck.

    Replace ducts or not?

Be glad you're not in my shoes. The ductwork is trapped between the original 10 ft ceiling and the 8 ft sheetrock ceiling that was added in the seventies. My AC compressor (also from the seventies) died in the summer of 2013. The ductwork has started to pull apart where the 40 yr old duct...

If you do automotive wiring repair, this new tool might be handy.

Assenmacher tools are available on both amazon and tooltopia, but not this particular tool isn't available at either place. Since it shows up on the new items page, maybe it's not available yet?

    20x24 Pole Barn Build

It looks like you have 2 8' doors on the 20' side. Is that correct? 20x24 is all I can fit into my back yard, and that's only if the city will issue a permit. I plan on putting one 12' wide door on the north 20' side 1 foot from the east wall to maximise the useful space that is not part of...

What value does a GC add?

Recently I had a conversation at city hall with the desk jockey in the building inspector's office. She hinted at the possibility that in the future, a homeowner will not be allowed to act as their own GC. Any work requiring permits will have to be done through a GC. Otherwise, if I were to...

what power tools are you looking to add to your collection?

If you're talking about the Ryobi 18V One+ system, the tire inflator is one handy tool to have. At first I thought it looked gimmicky, but I really like it as it's more convenient than firing up a full sized air compressor.

    older soda machine

Even though I don't collect dr pepper stuff, I think that would a shame. As long as it doesn't vend blue milk, maybe it would be ok.

    older soda machine

Your own soda machine is cool. The fact that it's not Coca-Cola, even better. DP machines are kinda unusual.

    your worst tool fail

A few years back, I dragged a 1967 Ford Custom500 out of a junkyard just to see if I could make it run. The car is long gone now, but somewhere around here I still have the jack stand it crushed under the front end of the car.

    Any pliers set recommendations?

I've been using a Diamond Horseshoe pair of pliers since the late 1980's. Recently, I started picking up some Channellock products and really like them. My favorite so far is the lineman's pliers.
