Do NOT put rigid foam between the rafters unless you leave an air gap. You need air flow. Best bet would be to place the rigid foam on top of the rafters or use a 1.5" spacer between the roof and the insulation. The sofit outside should be perforated to let air in, then air flows up the rafters...
